Definitely hope that they allow you to keep the Halo 3 default layout where B is melee and the others are mostly normal too. I cannot train myself all over again without sucking total ass.
Refined, polished, punishing: Ars plays Halo: Reach multi Possible confirmation of Scarabs in multiplayer or a journalist that hasn't done his homework on Covenant vehicle names? I'm leaning towards the latter. Which means as you read these press releases you need to take some of the more outlandish info with a grain of salt.
I laughed at that. I imagined the elites invading the base with a scarab stepping over all of it, the covenant stood atop the vehicle like rowdy dinosaur pirates. But I bet they meant Wraiths & Ghosts, especially since they didn't mention the little purple bumper-cars in the article.
That controller layout looks like a big change from Halo 3 to Reach, but not some much different from Halo 2. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that does look like the H2 setup but with Melee and Grenades switched (and the addition of Equipment and better use of the d-pad)/ One thing I'd hate is if zoom was moved to LT and then grenades moved to the bumpers.
Honestly, I really like the new controller layout, it seems to put more emphasis on melees and equipment/AA because they are on the shoulders
They also put night vision back in which looks grand. I imagine it looks like the onscreen sniper scope. It. Would have bin funny to play halo 3 with it's sniper scope vission.
Yea I hope you can use bumper jumper. It would take ages for me to get used to something other than that. EDIT: OMG THAT WARTHOG SAYS FH
Iv got one big question. Will the reticule bloom actually effect the accuracy of the weapon? Tthis means we will have to slightly alter our gameplay, because if your AR reticule is filling the whole screen its not going to help.
Crypto, the rate of fire affected the weapons in 3, the reticule bloom is just a more realistic HUD. ARs have always been more effective and accurate in bursts than in constant fire. As for controller layout, its more than likely that there will be a "classic" type setup that is more of 3 than reach.
Bloom only affects accuracy while its happening so if you shoot the DMR to fast it will be innacurate. So a higher rate of fire will be less accurate then a lower rate of fire. But if you shoot the DMR once, and only once, bloom won't do anything.
The reticule bloom will also have a maximum size. When no shots are fired it will be at its smallest size/most accurate, but after a certain duration at maximum fire the reticule will be at its maximum size/least accurate. Basically the reticule indicates to the player the spread of the weapon. Then faster you shoot the weapon the bigger the reticule becomes (to a limit). This makes a larger bullet spread which in turn lowers your accuracy.
Wow! What an awesome contribution to this thread! I was trying to clarify to Crypto that his AR reticule would not engulf the entire screen. Not everyone reeks of inherent omniscience like you Red Army
That doesn't help my burn scars! And I'll just leave this here so I don't loose it. http://downloads.bungie.net/videos/invasion_showdown.mov
