Sup everyone. Just call me Blood. xD I'm an Invasion Forger, though I have made a few Slayer maps. I'm not a super amazing forger, but I'm better than my friends, who just like smashing each other with walls and warthogs. xD My only problem is finding people to test my maps with. With Invasion maps, you need about 12-16 people, and I only have two other friends to play with. Inviting random people from your recent players hasn't been very productive recently. Is there any place around here to host games around here without looking like some kid whining to host Custom gimmicks? PS. I also play Halo chess.
Hi, Blood. Good to have you here. In terms of testing your maps, there are two real options. One is the Testers Guild where you can make requests for your map to be tested by teams of other players, then they'll give you feedback. The other is the Customs Lobby, where you can organise custom games yourself to run your own testing sessions. I'll be honest, both are quieter than they used to be with the fileshares being down and people gearing up for Halo 4, but still worth a shot if you'd like to put your maps through their paces. Hope this helps, and don't be afraid to ask any other questions you might have. Welcome to Forge Hub.
Yeah. The loss of fileshares on Bungie.net is a shame. They really should have waited until 343 had full support for everything the B.net had, before flipping switches. I'll see if I can get my maps tested by that Testers Guild thing you mentioned. Then, maybe, I'll try and set up some Custom Games, after I get some feedback and tweak the maps accordingly.
Yeah I was never quite sure why they had to leave such a big gap of having them offline. I trust that they must have had reasons which meant they had to, I don't see how anyone could gain anything from this downtime, but it's still disappointing. Good to hear, wish you all the best.
There was probably no other way they could go far, even though it would've been a lot more practical. Bungie had to move on and couldn't wait for another few months just to make things easier for others. And we should actually be glad that we can still download Reach maps in the game itself (Although that's not the case with Halo 3) But of course, it's is very awkward and annoying.
