    Hey party people.

I figured that because there is SO MUCH in Halo 5's forge, there should be a nice handy-dandy checklist to follow. This isn't telling you what should or shouldn't be in your map, nor is it a guide on the map making process.

I came across this problem myself, both looking at other peoples maps and my own, I found that the maps had different things missing. There are a ton of new features that you don't want to overlook, especially when they can greater increase the quality of your map.

So here is the checklist! They are in no particular order.

    • Map Geometry has no issues (this is an umbrella bullet for many different things)
    • Cool-looking objects swapped in for basic objects
    • Colors and Metal-Matte on every item look good
    • Lights are placed, including GOBOS!
    • Scripts are set and actually work correctly
    • Spawnpoints placed
    • Spawn volumes/zones are placed
    • Gametype objectives placed (and gametype labels are set)
    • Camera intro+endgame scenes are placed (and movie quality!)
    • Fog is looking good
    • Wind is up to speed
    • Power Weapons placed, with correct settings
    • Vehicles placed, with correct settings
    • Map boundaries are set (using softkill and hardkill zones)
    • Map is unbreakable
    • Sound effects are placed
    • Theme and FX are chosen
    • Background scenery placed
    • Not used items are deleted (no spawns/objects outside of the map if they are not intentional)
    • Decals are placed
    • Props looking good (if there is no Timmy or Olive on your map I am dissapoint)
    • You have a name for the map!
    • Screenshots of the map showing most of the map (at least the interesting areas) from both forger and player perspectives. Get at least one showing a large amount of the layout
    • Video of the map!
    • A "map layout" doodle, drawing, sketch, or some other method of showing the layout beyond just forge.
    • For fun, have a signature on the map!
If anyone else has any other suggestions to add, let me know! I might re-order these on either the ideal order you would go in.

The items are color coded now by what element of map making they belong in. (Gameplay vs Aesthetics vs Publication)

If I was handy enough with photoshop or other computer programs, I could make a nice digital checklist or graphic for this.

Also, what are peoples thoughts on me adding a pre-forging checklist, like a planning checklist? It would be like map size, map shape, map theme, etc
