HALO 5 IS SO RIDICULOUS

Forge was a DLC (I understand why, but still) I'll never forget that. Forge is on a dedicated server. Servers go down? Well there goes your progress.

Game types that have been with the Halo series since the beginning of time were released 6 months after release... But hey, they called it DLC and its "Free", so everyone humps 343's leg.

Every map to date is meh. The best Halo 5 maps are still ****.

85% of the armor looks disgusting.

Skins are cool... For $10.

Campaign... I got more of a thrill playing Spartan Strike on my iPad.

Warzone Firefight... Actually pretty fun. But the original on ODST had two main things that people loved. Unlimited rounds, unlimited time limit per round. It was actually difficult. 343 removed those two things... Though it's an improvement over the "beta".

Microtransactions... They went the best way about doing it... But they still could have just not have done them... I mean they didn't exist in any other Halo... The only thing I appreciate is the money going towards the competitive Halo scene.

Graphics looks like plastic. The water is terrible (that's a nitpick, but it's honestly so damn ugly in this game. H3 water ftw)

It just doesn't feel polished. Halo 1 did. Halo 2 did. Halo 3 did. Halo: Reach introduced some weird ****. Halo 4... **** me. MCC... They ****ed everything. From the UI, to not being able to customize your armor... Like wtf. Halo 5 is definitely an improvement over Halo 4, and even to Halo: Reach to an extent (that one is arguable), but that doesn't say much...

So what you are saying is a competitive TEAM-BASED shooter that is striving for e-sports by using fair starts and balanced gameplay is terrible because better players with a team beat you consistently?

1. That is exactly what a competetive shooters should do, weed out the scrubs to highlight and encourage great teams.

2. If you are searching alone you shouldn't be expecting the rest of your team to be playing with your best interest in mind. Just play your game.

3. Complaining about the system isn't going to do anything. Go make some friends on XBL and search with full squads, join an active Spartan company, or just post on forums that you need people to play.

What I am trying to say is basically no one here want to read garbage post about how you feel the game is unfair because teams beat up on you and hurt your feelings.

P.S. Stop complaining on a forum that has no relevance to your matchmaking complaints. Go back to waypoint with that junk.

343 RUINED HALO! I love you diary <3

 

Halo 5 was not the best approach to Halo in some cases, but...

Pros:
-The competitive scene got a much needed boost.
-Forge has never been better
-microtransactions were done better than almost every game out there with them
-by far the best weapon balance
-Warzone is fun
-Nathan Fillion, need I say more?

Cons:
-Social scene is lacking heavily
-Campaign is not Joe Staten, so it was not great
-Cortana should still be dead
-(hidden) ranked social playlists, not cool
-WZ farming
-no split-screen
-all online
-was and still is missing a lot of classic, and great, gametypes that if brought back would greatly help the social scene.
-felt incomplete at launch
-Spartan Charge


While the cons outweigh the pros, Halo 5 has still done a lot for itself, even if it does kick itself a few times working on getting things right.
The problem is that the fans are asking a little too much in a lot of cases.
I get that nostalgia is great and needed in cases, but sometimes fans ruin their favorite games.

Yes, Microsoft should've not pushed Halo 5 to be ready for fall 2015. I would've been happy had they waited until Fall 2016 to release H5. We could've had a (way) more complete game.

But now fans are asking a bit much, and it takes time to do things. Xbox isn't like PC games where they can push a patch or update or dlc as soon as they know it's ready. There are "official" channels the devs have to go through, requests and paperwork, etc. that must be done before the update can go live.

Infection was missing vehicle options when it came out with MoR. It got it, but Infection was rushed because fans "wanted the game mode so bad".
We may have even gotten actual "infected models" like H2A had, had fans been patient enough.
Infection is still missing color options for Spartans and Infected alike.

There are still a lot of missing game modes.
Make a request, see if people want the same thing.
If enough people want it back, 343 will do what they can, where they can, to get it to the players.
We just need some patience. Catering to every whim is what causes a game to fail in a lot of ways.

I got Halo 5 release day, and played it, but didn't like it much. Social scene wasn't great. Lots of missing game modes. Still not a fan of the story that tried to erase like 90% of what happened in H4, and that had a very misleading ad campaign.

Forge came out and I played it a little, but didn't do much with it. Had some practice, but aside from light forging, I didn't play H5 much.
April came. Memories of Reach dropped in May with some heavy additions to forge.
Since May, Halo 5 hasn't left my xbox's disc drive often.
While Halo 5 is still not the best Halo, 343 is doing their best to make up for a bit and keep fans happy and returning.

All they need is some time and faith.

And this is coming from someone who is a die-hard Halo fan who used to read books and always kept up on the lore and always looked forward to anything Halo.

So lagging in forge is real, huh? What is the purpose of dedicated servers for forge? Is it essentially a heavy weight licensing scheme?
