Hello, I was referred here by a friend. Currently, I'm looking for an advanced scriptor, who i can talk to, to help me with a few map designs. The reason for my request is that i know scripting can get difficult and tedious. I need someone to give ideas to, confirm if its even possiible. If anyone would like to help me please message me GT: WhiteNoble2007
Hey whitenoble - welcome to Forgehub! You're more likely to receive feedback if you can post a description of the problem you're trying to solve. And, if you've got a complicated issue and we figure it out on a thread, them the community can benefit from it, which is always good =) That said, I believe @Egggnog was trying to get some scripters together as a team to help with requests like this - maybe he'd be interested?
My GT is Fluffypup809398. I'm good at scripting and I'm on for hours after school, even if my profile says offline. Just send me a message and I'll help you out if I can.
I hear Sn1p3r C is also good himself. And cookies4you. A bunch of people like me just tune in to the site here from time to time, so your best bet is to take Sn1p3r's advice to create a thread for each problem and be specific about what you want done. You don't have to give away what your map will be if you can generally, but still somehow specifically in terms of actions, describe what should happen. Maybe think of another type of thing as an example that would produce the same results. If Charybdis hasn't taken care of things yet, check out the scripting doc that's linked in my signature. It just describes the scripting conditions and actions, but it does have some specific details that might be helpful. I wish we had a cookbook of scripting recipes somewhere. Closest thing might be the forgehub tutorials on YouTube.
I haven't responded to this post becauss you didn't upload a specific problem and I'm currently seperated from my xbox, but I would love to help you. My GT is ExpiredEGGGNOG, but I can also help you if you state what you want to happen.
I know what he's asking for as he asked me. In simple terms he's wanting to know if its possible to rotate a grouped object. Despawn it to make it grow over time with phasing objects. Without getting into specifics
Sounds interesting & maybe similar to something I'm gonna try soon to get smooth rotation. I like the idea of making a welded group grow by using respawns for parts of it. Let us know if you need some options. I'm gonna try to weld a few long straight pieces together, each in the same place and with despawn/spawn script pairs, but different timing for them. I'll set the to normal-physics and use a gravity slide to push them so they turn a cylinder or whatever. They'll keep respawning with the flat edge in contact with the rotating cylinder so there's no stupid collision with the leading end of the blocks. I'm fairly sure that they'll still be phased with each other despite having normal-physics since they're in a welded group.
