Seeing as how I've been looking for feedback from other communities on the maps created and chosen for Playlist Updates, i'd like to get a discussion going on what you like/don't like about the maps.

This week, Team Doubles was added.

Rail: Solid map, very basic but a lot of fun for such a vertical map.

My only issue is the spawns. They're way too forgiving and don't do enough to counteract Halo 4's heavy team spawn weighting. I was playing dubs with my friend yesterday and we were owning on Rail simply because all we needed was for one of us to survive the encounter and the other would spawn next to them, basically perpetuating our top control and making it way too easy to stay ahead.

Sure you could argue that we went two for one and deserved an advantage, but imo that advantage should be the one person remaining alive, able to reposition, and still having a foothold up top. I was fully expecting a low or mid spawn each time I died up top, but half the time I'd spawn right next to my friend in pretty much the same damn place I just died, and most of my other respawns were across the map but still on top. I felt like I should have been punished more for dying, and the other team given a little more for taking one of us out, rewarded with a slightly easier push next time around.

Didn't really seem fair to me, even though I was enjoying the benefits of it. I'll still happily vote for the map though. Very nice, simple design and I like the way top mid works with the central pillar.

The MLG Relay variant (forget the name) is a tad bigger than I care for but not too big in balance terms, more of a personal thing, and I guess it's a lot to do with how open it is rather than sheer size. But yeah, still plays quite well and allows for more sensible spawning.

Scythe plays pretty well 4v4 so I can see it also being good here, if a little slow due to such distinct centre separation. I'm kinda surprised they haven't put Garrotte in there, I think it's definitely worth a try. 2v2 is small enough to offer some actual set up potential there. I'd also like to see Simplex tried. I know it's larger, but not nearly as large as Relay/the other one.

Haven't had a chance to play Abandon or that Solace variant yet (guessing the bottom is cut off maybe? Must be something to warrant the name change), but Haven is obviously fantastic for dubs.

Overall I love this playlist. Long may it remain.
