I suppose that makes sense. Maybe they're replacing all the sub par automatic covy weapons with something new.

 

The plasma rifle isn't stronger, just better at depleting shields.

If the assault carbine is covenant then it probably won't be a plasma weapon.

 

I hope the Assault Carbine won't be another gun similar to the Assault Rifle/SMG/Battle Rifle/DMR. You know, not another rifle or automatic gun that will become part of halo. I hope the SMG comes back. I wouldn't mind another shotgun though...

 

.. what could a "carbine" be if it wasn't automatic or single shot? I highly doubt it'll be another burst fire like the BR.

 

Isn't the Energy Sword ABOUT the equivalent in terms of close range?
But, a plasma shotty would be sick...

Not really. The Plasma Rifle would be the equivalent, if anything. The needler has the explosion gimmick, and the fact that the needles track.

I thought perhaps 343i would be adding it simply to have another, yet equal weapon for players to start out with.

 

I would like it if the Plasma Rifle behaved like it did in CE... You know, caused the person being shot to slow down. **** was sick.

 

Imagine if halo 4 had destructible environments Plasma would melt **** like its actually supposed to.

 

That was always a fun mechanic in Halo ce. I was deeply saddened by its removal. However I liked the concept of dual wielding in halo 2. It added much needed weapon diversity as you never knew what to expect.

 

Plasma Rifle was rape in CE. Unless they seriously rebalance the sandbox I hope to God the stun effect doesn't return.

 

Bring back the forerunner energy beam from H3.

 

Sentinel Beam? That was introduced in Halo 2.

To be fair, I basically skipped out on the H2 MP cause, well, they took away my Pistol and I didn't really see the appeal of LIVE (god was I wrong on that front). Played the campaign a fair bit though, and went back to play the MP a decent amount during the H3 era when I got in to MLG.

 

H2 was before I played xbox seriously. So NYEH to you.

I hope they bring back the beam rifle, the focus rifle is awful as a sniper weapon.

 

I want to see the Hornet back. I can't say the same for the Falcon.
