True story. Seriously though, a clan of 8 Forerunners, Mythics and Eclipses against me and the highest on our team was a Captain. After a minute my whole team had quit because all 8 enemies were sitting in the hills near their base.
Player skill is not relative to rank in Reach... But sadly, true skill simply doesn't work in Reach. Bungie told us that it would be in the game, working in the background, but it really doesn't seem to be present. @Paints: Just watched that video again... Yes. I have to say if 343 consider halo 4 to be so important, why not put frankie as executive producer. He's made halo games before. Oho, discovery I just made. click! We will be able to turn off perks for custom games So that means that a classic playlist would truely work, with everybody spawning equally And there will also be "variety for different tastes"
Well the weapon spawning doesn't seem too bad. The fact that veterans can still predict their placement while giving casuals (don't like using that word but it's better than N00B) a chance by telegraphing its spawn is interesting. More competition for the power weapons ' usage, if you're better then them you're still control it. Also the custom games options is good news. Thanks Oli. AND he confirmed Team Snipes in that post.
Didnt they say something about power weapons appearing on HUD? In other words, mad dash for it... I think that ability should be an AA

These are the ideas that need to stop. This is exactly why these abilities are getting out of hand, because people just keep thinking of all these ridiculous things that don't need to exist in the game. We know now that they are listening to these stupid AA ideas and actually implementing them...
Considering awhile back they had a "create your own AA" thread on Waypoint where x-ray vision won out.... I hate life. Whoops, didn't realize this is a one liner response. Updated now to make it more relevant and non-spam.
Im okay with a classic playlist. I'd like to have both. But I just want to see the classic gameplay more.
"Classic" playlists didn't work well in Reach at all. Maybe it was just too little too late, but most of the community had already disappeared and largely all that remained was Reach noobs. The split of the remaining community led to small playlist numbers which led to playlists being cut. Not to mention the playlists were never set up as well as H2 or H3 did it. I just want Halo. Keep this new crap to campaign/firefight/spec ops/etc. Noobs be happy, we be happy, moneysoft be happy.
They are catering to the crowd that's making the money. It is an industry. I never thought it would come to this, though.
i think the x-ray vision thing is kinda cool. all a team needs is a designated x-rayer to call **** out. i can see it being pretty teamworky which is neat. i wonder what counters it... camo?
Frankie said that you would not be able to use it across a whole map to see their whole team, so I think dont it would be overpowered.

I see it as another way of catering to campers. How unfortunate. EDIT: But then again, I suppose you could also see campers. This is why I don't like armor abilities. It turns into a game of Rock, Paper, Scissors.
