I think it was equipped in the MC action figure shown a few months back.. I'm excited for tonights Halo Bulletin...it seems like they're showing off or explaining something every week now! Maybe more in-depth info about the DMR?
Bubble shield was cool in specific circumstances - for instance my favorite use of it in 3 was on Last Resort for 1-flag. I'd go through the wheel, grabbing both bubble shield and camo, then run down the stairs to the flag, toss the bubble shield down, grab the flag, and go back the way I came. The shield just blocked shots so I could get out without having to kill everyone in the base before running the flag - if they couldn't meet me at the top of the stairs, I would get out of the building every time. But it also had some horrible uses, like basically every appearance in an oddball game. I think deployable cover is a good alternative but I think it was actually underpowered. How about like a shield wall of fixed width and height? Maybe one that is also vehicle-proof, to replace the one good use of armor lock?
Cortana looking as sexy as ever. Two things Oli: The Flood has become a tired and boring thing in the Halo franchise. By Halo 2 they had all but lost their apocalyptic zombie feel and just became an annoying ass enemy. In other words, I hope the Flood doesn't return. Also, what seems more ominous than the face you're seeing is what appears to be the silhouette of a humanoid figure in the distance reflecting of MC's visor. And Chief doesn't seem to be welcoming him with open arms either. Perhaps, the Didact?/speculation
They did say in the last podcast that some sort of bubble shield replacement existed, what exactly I'm not sure.
...I got none of that from those two images. Are we looking at the same things? Cortana looks just fine (epic boobage) but just fine. I don't know what quantifies a "dying" look to you. The rampancy thing could very well be, as it is story cannon that it happens to smart AI after awhile and Cortana certainly has had to deal with a lot of **** (and went through some rampancy in one of the Halo novels) but none of that is apparent from those two images. Also game journalism sources such as gameinformer get concept art and details from the publishers/developers earlier on average then the consumer but highly doubtful they know "the story". I mean most of the story anyone could just guess at and probably be near right. Plus there was that plot dump of a post on either bungie.net or waypoint, I forget which one at this point, which supposedly leaked a bunch of story details so information floats around. I also have no idea where you're getting tentacles from. They look just like normal wires. While inclusion of the flood is certainly possible, it being a forerunner construct Chief will be fighting on, nothing in that image seemed indicative of that. ...and just no with the face thing. Oli, there's a difference in wishful thinking and just overanalyzing the crap out of things and seeing stuff that isn't there.
...no they got old. Cortana is one of the worst levels in a halo game just as The Library is considered one of the worst for the original Halo. But as a firefight mode, sure why not. Harder waves could include those flood juggernaut things.
Her projections are usually tiny, and in-game she's translucent, so of course she looks different when she's full-size, opaque, and hand-drawn.
Cortana looks super slutty now. @ Pac I hated cortana because it was really hard on legendary compared to all the other levels. The Library was a bad level because it was so... repetitive. You would see the same room over and over again. So no, I dont think the flood were bad/boring enemies. I would like to see a Flood Firefight. It would be so much fun. Im also looking forward to see what the flood look like.
Nope. I'm here. I was probably the only one who didn't got tired of Flood. I wish they would have less ''dig deep in flood territory to find something and then get out of a living nightmare'' levels like 343 Guilty Spark and Cortana and more fun flood levels. My favorite was Floodgate, because there you don't really need to feel alone and it gives that apocalyptic feel. I hope they do some kind of defense level, just like sometimes in Halo 3 ODST you had to hold out in the Campaign at places that also appear in Firefight.
Just a comparison of Cortanas I found. Honestly, I swear by Halo 6 (that makes it sound milked by itself really) she will be a ball of boob. I do think they have gone a bit OTT with her. I actually liked Halo CE and Halo 3 cortana. I don't like her so much as a perfectly rendered female. We know they are going to delve deep into the relationship between the two, but I think making her physically a person is quite annoying. I liked her when she looked less human than the other characters. I think its the face and hairstyle I dislike about cortana in 4. A bit too overdone. Cortana is a person with natural beauty, I don't see why they needed to go so over the top with her appearance. That does a little like concept art btw.
