those were his thrusters, most likely. he's always had them. it doesnt take much force to propel you when theres no gravity or air.
Here's my "wish list" *I want to be able to play as an Elite again, regardless of gametype. Spartans and Elites in multiplayer should be how it was in H2/3. *Bring back the flamethrower/incendiary grenades *Default maps that aren't **** to forge on *The ability to place trees and breakable glass in forge mode.
I must be the only person here that enjoys playing as an Elite from time to time. Not sure why it rustles so many jimmies. And yes, dinos are indeed the cat's pajamas.
You can play as an Elite in Custom Games in Reach. The reason why Elites are awful in matchmaking, is because they have awkward hit boxes. They were almost impossible to shoot in the back of the head in halo 2/3.
Also, in an effort to "fix" the hitbox problems, they changed the size of the elite head-hitbox.... to be smaller than the elite head. So if you shot them in the mouth or around the edges, it wouldn't register as a hit. That was aggravating when you tried to snipe them from their sides.
Sure you can, you just need the gametype from matchmaking. I did tons of customs with FFAs with mixed Spartans and Elites. Fun stuff.
