Ok I went through and listened go every word. Not once did they mention anything about perks. Is there an article or something I'm missing? So far all I've seen is positive things from the video. -Amazing Audio -More detailed graphics -BR is back and looks sweet -Movement and physics look realistic -You're not playing as a different colored masterchief in MP, but as a whole new breed of Spartans -HUD looks awesome, especially scoreboard -Maps are going to good again
Why do I deserve a facepalm? Also the lighting of the Spartans are way better than the armour lighting from Halo Reach. Wish they would give some info on the new weapons, though.
And thats what our complaints are based around, assumptions and opinions on how detrimental they will be to gameplay. Some things are just obvious, however; if 343 was to reveal a weapon that nukes the entire map of all living players, would you need to use it to realize how ridiculous it is?

Assumptions are bad. If you start assuming the gameplay is bad before trying it then even if it isn't you would have tricked your mind to think it is cheapening the experience for yourself. I mean did nothing you just said seem like crap to you? For the sake of argument lets go with your over exaggerated example. Maybe that ability can only be used once and both teams have to fight for the ability to use it and its like an end game condition. That would make for an interesting gametype now wouldn't it. But no, keep thinking glass half empty. And elite no one is talking about it because it is way too early to discuss halo 4 in anything more than a theoretical level. 343 hasn't mentioned it nor released any information regarding it so short of assuming it will be included there isn't much yet to go off of.

I'm with Skisma here. I've watched the video an upward of eight times now not seeing a single mention of perks at all. Although, if there is something that's missing here and an out-of-game equipped perk system is being introduced then I am 100% against it for reasons that Peg and Nut have already addressed. I'm also with Skisma on being optimistic. I think the Spartans look good and their physics, movements, and sense of weight make them more realistic looking. To me, there is something more 'god-like' looking to the new Spartans which makes them seem more threatening. Also, the playscape seems to have a very different atmosphere than most other Halo games and I'm really digging it. War House has a very industrial feel to it and it feels hot. Wraparound, being clearly Forerunner, has a very alien and surreal feel to it that makes my heart pound with the ambition to sniff out mystery that previous games in the series have sought out to do. It's a good feeling mind you. And so are the rest of my feelings about the game.

just hoping the new warthog doesnt flip as easily as previous models. 500 years in the future and they flip easier than a damn junebug. But im psyched on how the game looks. graphics seem like a mix between crysis 2 and reach. cant wait for the beta XD
I'm kind of pissed about different armors changing the way you "Play the game", or the "Perks" you guys keep talking about. When I pick a goddamn helmet, I want to pick it because it looks cool. I don't want to say "Well, this helmet looks awesome, but that helmet makes my bullets do 1.25% damage".
My friend and I had a thought back before Halo 3 was released, about the descriptions they gave the helmets (in an OXM article, I believe). We decided that because the EVA helmet said that it enhanced the wearer's field of vision, it would be kind of cool if it gave, say warthog gunners, a slight advantage finding enemies. Basically perks don't have to be major and game changing (unless I completely missed the part where they were declared to be), but they could be subtle things that vary each play-style ever so slightly.
Love the way the new armor is looking and really just everything about the video. I want to jump on the bandwagon and say that the "perks" are going to be bad, but knowing 343 and how they've helped shape Reach, I have a hard time believing that they would go and do the same thing, let alone make it worse.
