I can handle COD starts I can handle too many BTB maps but what the **** is up with no gametypes? It's like they don't want us to play multiplayer or something.
like always, the playlists will change and whatnot as the game lives on reach didnt have all the playlists it has now when it launched ya know
Still pretty dumb that they didn't include VIP, Assault, and Territories. All such great gametypes that I hoped would always stay with the Halo multiplayer experience. I guess we can hope that they'll implement them later on.
I think there is a Law of conservation of customization. They have more armor customization, so they had to take customization from somewhere else, in this case custom gametypes. It's a fair enough trade, removing one of the best things about Halo in favor of pretty colors.
And player stances. Having my Spartan show his knife when people scroll over my name in a lobby will instill enough fear in them that I will reign supreme. Like a Chalupa.
...but the only gametypes it was missing at launch were the 'Insane'/Action Sack ones. And those were far from big gametypes, though Hockey was a neat base variant. Meanwhile, Assault, Territories, Juggernaut (although you could probably make Jug out of Regicide) and others are big gametypes that have been with Halo since day 1. VIP wasn't a day 1, but it was well liked alongside Grifball. One gets a complete overhaul, the other (the one with much more potential depth) drops off the face of the Earth in Reach, apparently not to return. What? There's a big difference between having the gametypes and having the playlists. Playlists don't matter as much. Having the gametypes actually in the game is pretty important. Ugh. Not to mention online there are 2 minigame playlists (Flood and Grifball), no BTB objective, only NS slayer, no plain FFA... Also, I'm betting the KotH playlist will become statwhore central. If the stats are tracked SOMEWHERE, even if it's not in the K/D...it will be rampant. Just when I thought they couldn't mess with any other part of the game that didn't already get the '343 treatment', Customs gets the shaft. And MM playlists are silly. Yeah, I told my bro I'm not helping him buy the game anymore. He's probably getting it anyway (and I'll try it out), but eh...
This is how it works. Customizations are never created or destroyed, they are merely changed from one form to another.
hahahaha god dammit. i cant wait to enjoy crab claw-only flood mode with like 2 options. bummer they had to use all those limited customization points elsewhere.
Let's see: -no assault -no territories -no classic CTF -no VIP -no juggernaut -no options to set Flood to have weapons other than the claw (not sure if this has this been confirmed or not though, but I'm kind of expecting it to be the case) RIP non-slayer based minigames.
Yeah, I wish they would just release the scripting engine to the public. Granted, you could do some pretty shady stuff with it... Still, all of these limitations are so unnecessary if they designed the gametype "engine" in a similar fashion as previous Halo titles.
^ Only thing important and not old news in that bulletin is that the Lucky 13 Skulls are still there, but taken straight from Reach, meaning unlocked at the start. So no skull hunting. Domain Terminal Hunting is still there though.
Halo 1 - 14 launch maps Halo 2 - 13 launch maps Halo 3 - 12 launch maps Reach - 11 launch maps Halo 4 - 10 launch maps And the critics say Halo 4 doesn't "feel like Halo".
