Lol if only that were true. Even if you prefix that with "reputable" news organisations it still doesn't hold true a lot of the time.
There is like 1000's of possibilities, I know there geomerged slightly in the videos, Maybe when there pushed to far in they get pushed out, Maybe its magnets, Maybe its the part of the map he tested on sanctuary, Maybe its the forge piece he used, Maybe there is a "phased/locked" option he missed, Maybe,Maybe,Maybe. Never know why he came to that conclusion or why whatever happened happened. Facts i know of are, We can geomerge into the map slightly and gemomerge with other placed objects. And someone apparently has a pre release version of the game and couldn't do geomerge with map in one instance. We can speculate all we want be won't know till we have the game or 343i confirms it or leaked footage is shown. (and that's whats annoying me, that we can't know for sure.)
Overkill has posted back on the THC thread, the merge thing seems to be a glitch on Ravine, hopefully it doesn't rule out geomerging on Ravine as a whole, and perhaps can even be patched. His main remaining complaint seems to be the lack of fine tuning with the zoom tool, which was perhaps where the thing about lack of coordinates came from, since now he seems to be talking as if there are coordinates.
i dont understand what he means about not being able to "freehand" something... just... turn the magnets off? and, maybe the object repelling out of the ground as he described also has something to do with the magnets? shrug
I think by "freehand" he's talking about click to zoom being gone. Freehanding fine movements is much harder without it.
mix of frustration and skepticism... is anyone else really butthurt that the Revenant / its equivalent is gone? I AM. brute chopper was super fun, so was rev it was not OP and it was a great counter to people who were on a rampage in a hog or wraith :'( I WILL MISS YOU REVENANT CHOPPER edit- also, does Overkill have a leaked/pirated copy, or is he playing the demo at nycc? if its the latter, it could explain a lot.
He was referring to the fine adjustments used by holding down the LS. There's still a way around it, albeit more difficult.
So you don't foresee ever needing to fine-tune an object location in a way that the magnet feature will not do for you? Because I really, really do. We don't even know exactly how magnetism is going to work - what if I want to line up one small, weird part of an object with the major flat surface of another? I'm guessing that magnetism would try to make me do something more normal. And if so, the loss of fine-tuning is a huge blow. Not happy about this news at all. The geo-merge thing is also crazy. Hopefully that's not the whole story.

no, not at all. but apparently, you can no longer click in LS for precision movement. and now everyone is all mad about it. but then frankie said that dude was doing it wrong. and none of us are sure if its true or not
What a mess. I'm guessing all videos posted will be taken down too quickly so it seems like something that we'll have to find out first hand. I'm holding on hope this game'll be everything I want it to be
