I get the feeling it will just be people with their heads stuck to the ceiling like you can do in Reach with 1 way shields. This space is really cool, I hope it was bigger than I was able to see from the video. The only thing I don't like is the prefab building that can't be deleted. Why is that there? A structure that completed should have been a placable part in my opinion, not something that is likely to get in the way when trying to build a map.
Delete all=Except locked pieces is true so that could be a explanation. And the gravity has arrows coming out of it so I'm assuming whatever direction its rotated to controls gravity direction.
judging from Relay, i have the impression we have a bit of room to go out into space and make floating space maps. from the rest of the video it seems we just have the two large asteroids to go back and forth from (the other one in the distance, seen at 5:16, and the main one with the building) but yea, that is kinda silly that you cannot delete that building. maybe it was set to "lock" and thats why it did not delete when he selected delete all?
At 40 seconds when they show the 4 frames the top-right one shows what looks like a cave environment, as I can see brown natural looking walls and light streaming down from above in a certain spot into otherwise dark surroundings. Forge space 3? The base could be set to locked. For the sake of terrain based BTB maps I hope that thing can be deleted, I don't want to build around it every time I want to use that area. It would be so cool if that hole led down to some area, but I'm not getting my hopes up.
here the youtube Exclusive Halo 4 Forge Mode Details - YouTube Shoe, that cave looks sexy but judging from the pieces, they seem the same as on Ravine? maybe its a cave area of Ravine
What's amazing is that one of the options in trait zones is "fall damage OFF/ON" which means we could just apply that to entire maps if we want classic gameplay (if it isn't already an option in the custom games settings).
if this is true... and our orientation is actually rotated based on gravity... the possibilities are truly astounding... anyone remember that game Prey ? look at 19:52 in this video Prey Gameplay Xbox 360 - YouTube there was also other parts where you'd enter a room and suddenly gravity is on the wall and you flip
Not liking the sound of "each map has its own palette with SOME unique and custom pieces." Watching the whole video now, but that line early on makes me think that the palettes are going to be more the same than they are different.
yea... i noticed that too =\ you can see some familiar pieces throughout the video, pieces that we've already seen on ravine and in reach... but i did also notice many new pieces as well
Forge looks loads better, but damn that forge map they made looks bad. I'm excited to see what the community can do. So we have a human theme and a forerunner theme.. You guys think the last will be covenant?
Man.. Grass, and now an amazing space map. This is awesome, especially for building a ship, with the view on space. Please, please make the last one either snow or sand. Then for me, everything would be perfect as it is.
Well. Lighting looks great. It'll be nice to have a little more diversity in environments, and the trait and grav zones look fun for minigames. But basically this seemed like a 10 minute introduction to forge for people who don't forge. Lots of focus on the already-showcased new features like magnetism, duplication and locking that are more helpful to beginners anyway; no focus at all on the stuff this site really cares about, like the diversity of the object palette, lighting/FX and whether they're useful now, and framerate (not that I expected any mention of that little skeleton in the closet - we won't know until we start forging, more than likely). Or even the really basic stuff like "how much space is there to forge in?" and "are there any new giant objects so I'm not staring at coliseum walls for the next two or three years?" I really hope someone who knows forge inside and out gets a copy of this game early. I'm dying to hear details from someone who is capable of really putting this through its paces.
Ok so let's see: Ravine - Forerunner themed Impact - UNSC themed The last one must be Covenant themed. Hopefully a ship or covenant base.
