Thanks for the clarification! I updated my post to prevent anyone's confusion. That makes me want to use the thing more...
Like I said in more detail in my previous post, the light rifle can't be as good as either the DMR or the BR, especially if it doesn't have bloom. If it is, everyone is going to make friends with the light rifle. I agree with Nutduster, Valhalla definitely has enough cover for a DMR. The only place without much cover, the bubble shield side, was already close enough to the laser hill for the BR to kill at a short kill time, close to the normal kill time. Considering how we got used to a short crouch kill time at long ranges on open maps like Hemmorhage (you can get a couple of shots on a player by the huge hill between the two caves from "shark's mouth/elbow"), I think any map would be easy to get used to with a perfectly precise BR (whether with hitscan or with leading required).
That is stupid. Undeniably stupid. There really isn't a reason to use the BR then, it's just going to become a ****-version of the DMR. Matching it up to the DMR in Xsk, while it's less accurate by it's nature isn't balancing the three human weapons, it's just making a crappy alternative to the DMR. I hope somebody can prove me wrong and explain how it's supposed to balance out with the DMR and Assault Rifle while being 5sk. That is... odd. But, depending on rate of fire that would make it a better alternative to the BR and DMR for long range, if it's the only one out of the ranged starter weapons that can 4sk. That's pretty interesting, and yeah, I'm curious about how the Carbine stacks up. I actually preferred it in some situations in Halo 3. Agree with the 5sk BR being a joke, but what's this about bloom. Some weapons have "bloom" and some don't?
I'd rather have the burst rifle over single shot. Just gives you more insurance when aiming at a shieldless head. But that's just me.
Well, that's weird. Considering this... I might just try to get to know that light rifle really well. Take it out for a few drinks, drop a few hints, you know, the works.
Wait. Did Shanon just ask for the utility weapon to be easier to use, with less of a skill gap? You do know you're, like, good at this game, right?
same. plus, no bloom. and if for some reason i wanted single shot, im going covie carbine 100% of the time.
If his entire post history is any kind of evidence, then yes, he knows. Yet his love of the AR-of-precision-weapons seems to suggest the opposite... *headscratch*
In a team-based scenario, which I play the most, I want the precision weapon that can finish off targets easier, along with that burst fire leaving my opponent less time to scope in because of the peppering. When in a 1v1 scenario, I can see myself siding more with the DMR. However, a 1v1 scenario is something I try to avoid because my chances of winning are lowered. I like to reduce my chances of failure, so Id rather lead with support from teammates. But to further clarify: I do agree with you Peg, I find the BR to be the utility weapon with less of a skill gap compared to the DMR. But, it's in the game, and I'm going to utilize every weapon within my arsenal that's going to give me an edge over my opponents, unless of course it's crouch walking. Crouch walking is for pussies.
New details on CTF and how the scoring system will work along with some important questions answered: The Halo Bulletin: 9.5.12
Was the armor that was available in the PAX build the full set? If so, why is there no Mark V armor? -ArchedThunder The PAX build contains the full set of armor in Halo 4. In the final game, there are a variety of methods for unlocking armor and armor skins - ranking up, earning commendations, progressing through Specializations and completing goals on Waypoint. Some of the skins, helmets, and the FOTUS armor are exclusive to various retail offers. Some of these items MAY become available to all players at a later date. We wanted to focus on the Spartan-IV armors for Infinity, maximizing the amount of variety across the armor designs. However, we did want to include a reward for completing the Campaign on Legendary, so we decided to use the Mark VI armor as that reward. While we'd love to include every historical variant of the Chief's armor, it's just not possible to fit more armor sets into the available memory.
