Ive never heard of the saw. What kind of role is it supposed to fill? And if they're showing off weapon sounds then they are final. Which also probably means the game is pretty close to done
Bulletin where the video came from. Promethean pistol? Some guy noticed this over at halogaf. I'm thinking that the saw will be ordinance, and will have low ammo with high power, like a ripped off turret. Just a guess.
Those guns sound pretty awful. At E3 the DMR sounded amazing, is it just me or did it change drastically? The SAW does look amazing though. I'm definitely excited for that one.
When I saw the pic of it I thought it might be a version of the automatic Shotgun Terry Crews had in Expendables. When I saw it was just a machine gun with a big ass clip I was slightly disappointed.
(le opinion) I dunno what to expect from the SAW. I hope it doesn't turn into a spray-and-pray power weapon. That would piss me off. If it's a legitimate weapon with a visible skill curve, I'll be interested to see a completely new role in the Power Weapon line-up. Railgun looks like a lot of fun and tough and interesting. Sticky Detonator still looks meh at doing Grenade Launcher things, but better at doing anti-vehicle things. Shotty looks like a Shotty. Glad to see it's a "specialty UNSC weapon" and not a loadout weapon. Pistol still strikes me as useless. I don't think Halo's sandbox needs weapons labeled as 'secondary'. In Halo, to me that means 'swap for the first decent weapon'. It's a waste of a spot in the sandbox IMO. And why 14 shots for DMR? Strikes me as silly to remove that one shot.
I think it's pretty necessary to have useless weapons; (aside from the fact that they're pretty decent when you need one last shot and need to reload with a primary) what if you wanted to make a mini-game or something where a certain group of people have nothing but those crappy weapons (ex: an infection travel/survival game)? It'd be pretty limiting if you were forced to equip all players with guns that have a good use and the only way to get around that is to change the damage traits, which gets really complicated when you want to eventually give them decent weapons.
SAW looks not too far from CoD kill times, not sure how much I like the look of that, but way too little footage to put any store by that opinion yet. Guess we'll see.
If the Saw is a power weapon then i think its great, bout' gohd dang time halo had a decent machine gun!
The SAW looks like it'll be a good close-mid range power weapon. I wonder how effective it'll be against vehicles?
Not a fan of the saw at all, it looks cheesy and it doesn't seem to do anything outside of the AR's role. The shotgun I'm happy to finally have back, but it lost that visual boner-inducing effect that it had in the Reach beta/Halo CEA.

The SAW looks sweet. I've been saying for a while that Halo needed an RCP90. It just suits the way Halo flows. The Railgun is still going to be my favorite though. The Railgun and the Sticky Detonator are basically the two halves of the functionality of the GL, and the sticky detonator is the lame half lol
They said in the bullitin it shoots faster than an Turret but it only has 72 rounds so. i figure you place some good shots on a vehicle it'll blow. not gonna be very powerfull long range tho.
