Actually, there are some areas on that level in which there is no death barrier. An example would be the secret grunt. Another example would be another secret area that i found. You can see it here:

I think that the Hornet may be somewhere near there. I have heard other rumors that it might actually be a banshee but it has never been proven.

Seriously though, I only knew about the mongooses, those other vehicles are pretty sweet.

he just keeps trying to kill you with his laser. Against YOUR enemies he is a terrible aim. But when he turns against YOU his accuracy is 99% unless your crazy at dodging infinite lasers lol.

Im not 100% sure but I think you have to betray him before you go into the room with 343 Guilty Spark. Basically, before you go into the room, throw a plasma grenade onto Jhonson until he dies. Take his laser if you want and quickly run into the room before he comes back to life.

 

getting the mongoose is kind of pointless beacuse it cant make the jump at the end.

 

Technically you CAN make the jump but you don't make it all the way. The level finishes before the mongoose gets close to the frigate.

I knew about the mongoose on this but i never found the choppers or ghosts. I guess cause i didnt do it on legendary. and is there really a glitch that you can save johnson?

 

If you want to make it with the chopper, it should work the same way but when it jumps, use the boost while in the air and it should push you forward enough to complete the level. Bungie wouldn't put a vehicle there if you couldn't finish the level with it.

I've seen it on Youtube, but have yet to do it myself.

You know, if it's hidden, bungie could care less. It's campaign! Not multiplayer. And its hidden on Legendary.
It's kind of like putting the scarab gun in Halo 2. Sure it makes the level simple once you get it, but it's still fun.
