Halfghan Created by jakob hunter Recommended Gametypes: Slayer, KOTH, Territories, and Infection Recommended Players: 2-8 Hold your horses, I know what you're going to say: "Hey super awesome BuddhaCrane guy, I know you're super awesome and everything but I do believe that only the first two winning entries in the Foreign Treasures contest receive a featured write-up, and Halfghan came joint third!" You know what? You're right! The thing is, my imaginary chum, this map is worthy of feature, contest or not. What's that? You're quiet now? Good, seems those pills have kicked in. On with the festivities! So Halfghan then. This is a map forged by jakob hunter, and it's a pint-sized remake of Midget Modern Warfare 2's map: Afghan. While the map's scaling down means it didn't rank as highly in our contest against the other entries, it doesn't mean it's not a double negative great competitive map experience extravaganza bonanza. Due to Halfghan's snug form-fitting layout, this is a map designed for smaller parties; team doubles works very nicely. The map may be miniaturised but it is incredibly accurate. Jakob hunter chose to scale everything down rather than crop parts out of the map; I think this was a very wise decision since something has to give on a map the size of MW2's Afghan. Of course, I can't talk about this map and not mention the plane! Really Jakob hunter has done a great job of recreating that structure from nose to tail in great detail; it is obvious that it is a plane and not just an assortment of blocks. Another impressive inclusion is the random power weapon and equipment mechanism, which will spit out weapons and equipment into different directions so that you don't know where they will land - crazy! The best thing about this Modern Warfare 2 remake has to be, though, that it is not Modern Warfare 2, so "hurrah" on that one fellas! *Dodges javelin aimed at face* I would like to conclude by recommending you all read Jakob hunter's amusing story in his map thread. If a Halo map could tell tales then I'd be very disturbed by the ones Halfghan would undoubtedly tell! One thing to add though: if the settlement of Halfghan is supposed to be inhabited by midgets, which explains the map's size, then why is the plane small as well? OMG the flight crew must have been midgets too! It was an inside job! The plane didn't crash, it was sabotaged! Conspiracy! *Dived on by Oddjob, Mini-Me, Wee Man, and Danny Devito* Wait, is it raining? I could have sworn I just felt some droplets...oh well. That's it folks! Shock can has front page feature writeup? :O I didn't really like the random weapon system this map has going on, but hey, somebody likes it. Congrats jakob, you deserve this one.
Read the disclaimer pinohkio!!!!!! And now, super-agreed on this lol, this map is really fun to play. I am late to the party though, so i wasnt aware of this feature until just now either! And besides, i love mini-me... >.> <.<
Late to the party aswell... I actually found this feature on accident, so yeah. Is somebody gonna bring this up to the front page or what? Great write-up Buddha! Halfghan was an excellent map, and to tell you the truth I never saw this coming. Congratulations on premium Jakob! But of course I already congratulated you a month ago.
Huh, another premium? Good for you. You know its gotta be good when it gets 3rd and still gets featured. Good job dude, looks pretty cool. I didnt even look at the contest, except for the 3 maps that got front paged and apparently I missed out on some good stuff. Gratz dude.
Congratulations of the feature Jakob. Halfghan is definitely deserving of it. Pretty sure this makes another Premium now?
What is Jake's other feature? And I've checked this map out, but never played on it, maybe now I will.
His other feature came from the Wonders of the world contest. His map, Collosus of Rhodes, got first place and a feature.
Even though i hated this map on mw2, its so accurate for such a small scale map and it is very hard to add all of that map into this but it is still very accurate. The map itself is incredible craftsmanship Jackob you really have created a good team doubles map. Although this map is not on my hard drive but i still like it.
Very true, you've actually made something very hard to something very exquisite which I adore. The slight thing I hate is the plane as you didn't finsh all of it but this is made in halo 3 forge so that disadvantage is really worthless. I think this should be a featured map and in my opinion is a very fun map to play on.
Ah, Jake. Congrats on this man, you definantly deserve it. This is most certainly my favorite of all the maps you've made, and it truly is a beauty. Enjoy the brown threads.
Congratulations on the Feature, this map is extremely fun to play 2v2 and is a farily accurate remake of a very large map.
holy sheezy! Thank you for the feature and for all the great comments people are giving this map! Although this feature fails to mention my co-forger who had a role in a bit of the map. Fire Phoenix117 he really helped on some things mostly on the ramps at the back of the map and at making the walls higher so as not to be escapable. So will mention him right now, Fire Phoenix117 thank you for all you're help on making this map
First off, congrats on the feature. It is a very unique map and definitly deserved it. I accaulty did get a chance to play on it a few days ago and I must say, that map hosted some very fun gameplay.
Congrats, Mr Hunter, Jacob. Out of all the things you have forged, I wouldn't have expected this to be your second feature, but its a great map nonetheless. See you in the magical and mysterious Hub Pub!
Hub Pub now has a muskrat lurking around. Kidding, Jakob. Congrats on the feature, very well deserved!
I played this map with a bunch of friends, and although im pretty sure we had way to many ppl on the map, it was pretty fun. I love the fact that you were able to take such a large scale map and downsize it but keep the same gameplay. You did a great job emphasizing the key locations on the map and placing them perfectly. Congrats!
I accualy started out making a remake of afghan and couldn't do it.. it just simply to big! But you seem to have done a perfect job with the limit. Kudos to you XD
Thank you Jakob for the recognition but it doesnt matter if i was mention or not even though i was expecting something. In general though as long as u and me know we made this master piece together i fine with it. Congrats once again!! =)
