Off Topic: Shock, ever since I played on this map with you, every forum post of yours that I read has a British accent. Now I know what your voice sounds like, it's taking over my own inner monologue when I read your posts. It's weird. On Topic: I am not a fan of remakes. They are usually fun for a game or two, and for nostalgia, but not much else. This map, however, is the exception to that rule. You did a great job here, and I know I could not have done better. But I guess that's why you're a Guilder. I really like the BR start here, and also suggest a SMG secondary because that way you can grab the one in the base and do some real damage close-up. Great work!
Wow. This is by far the best remake iv'e seen to date. I especially like how the double boxes are inverted to clean up the appearance of the walkways. The central box area looks great too, although, the use of the barriers rather than an immovable object may work better. Still looks awesome. Downloading for sure.
Well. I didn't like the original Foundation, but if Shock Theta made it, then I guess i'll try it out.
Just played Nades n' Spades on this map. Very nicely done. After the battle went on for awhile, some of the geometry started falling over. I was killed by a falling barricade. Lots of fun.
Ah brings back LAN party memories, great remake. EDIT: Also I found a pretty easy way to get out of the map. You run at the gravlift and land on part of the wall sticking out. Then you walk forward and throw a grenade onto the fence box and you can grenade jump out of bounds. Not a big deal though.
very impressive, i havent seen another foundation remake where the designer put in the the rooms, and youve managed to squeeze them in while keeping the main part o f the map intact
This is the best remake of Foundation period. Great work Shock. now do Midship to this level of detail ;D
wow this is the best halo 2 remake i've seen yet, i was still able to get out of the map with a grenade, but i found that i could easily get back in with the stairs you set up in back, great job man, keep up the good work
Oh man... that'd be tough. Maybe though. It's my favourite level from Halo 2. The problem is that you always step on someone else's toes doing remakes. New picture up for your viewing pleasure. The central area windows can now be crouch jumped through - enabling you to evade and surprise attack those in the centre. It also makes this area more viable as somewhere to engage in more interesting and tactical skirmishes. Gravity set to 150% makes all the jumps within the map the same as in Halo 2, and you can't get out in one simple step with that setting. The stairs were for exactly that eventuality though, glad they helped! : )
Hey, great map. I downloaded it the other day and its exactly like the old halo 2 map. For people that were wondering, the rooms in the middle are a good size, there not as small as they look in the picture. well, 5/5, great job.
pretty damn good. I've made 1 as well and its almost as good as yours (maybe better). but i learnt how to interlock objects and all that stuff after i made it. Also why are the smgs floating and why is the sword standing?
The SMGs have a habit of falling between the interlocked central boxes in the rooms so they require weapon holders. The sword is standing up because that's how it is in Halo 2.
I've got a suggestion if you would like to hear. When the players spawn in on of the four rooms they end up staring right into a wall, maybe you could add a couple of startingpoints and place all of them further back in the rooms? I've spawned countless times not knowing where I am or what I'm looking at.
I already have starting points placed for every gametype - you are describing facing the wall opposite the entrance to the rooms, which is a spawn in Halo 2. It looks like you're facing a wall because the rooms are smaller than they could be. The starting points are in the centre of the rooms, so the normal respawn points facing the same direction are further away from the far side wall. Unfortunately it was necessary to have this set up in order to have reasonable sized teams spawn roughly together at start/throughout games, whilst not having spawns that put others directly in your way. I understand where you're coming from, but I'm afraid the answer is that you'll have to deal.. I've run into my item limit also, so no more object placement.
