Going insane scripting

    Okay so last night I had a beautifully scripted vortex annnnd the servers crashed before I could save it.
    I am banging my head against the wall trying to get it working again. The idea is to turn it on and leave on the loop with one press of the button, turn it off with the next, and be prevented from activating it while it is turning on or off.
    So my current scripts are:

    Switch:
    On activation: sends alpha
    On multi (3): alpha received, bravo on, alpha off: send bravo
    On multi (3): alpha received, bravo on, alpha on: send delta

    Timmy: (1 s respawn)
    On spawn: set bravo on, send charlie
    On despawn: set bravo off
    On bravo received: despawn

    Slipspace open:
    On bravo: spawn
    On charlie: despawn
    On round start: despawn

    Slipspace loop:
    On charlie: spawn
    On delta: despawn
    On spawn: set alpha on
    On despawn: set alpha off, send echo
    On round start: despawn

    Slipspace close:
    On echo: spawn
    On foxtrot: despawn
    On round start: despawn

    Olive: (3 s respawn)
    On spawn: set bravo on, send foxtrot
    On despawn: set bravo off
    On echo: despawn


    I don't know what the difference between last night and today are but now no matter what I do the best I've got it to is a loop that activates when you press the button, full open loop close and obviously, reset.

    What am I doing wrong? It seems right in my head and I had it before

    Seem to have figured it out. No idea why it works now buuut I got it.
    Would anyone be willing to check out the flow of it so far? I feel like it's too open, and I'd love to have some more experienced map makers give me some pointers!

    I've noticed a Forge glitch lately where scripts will be reset or have a property overwritten from an adjacent script. I had an "On Round Start" converted to an "On Match Start" and it ruined everything. Seems to be related to using RB/LB to move through scripts, potentially related to the weapon glitch.

    In any case, going through the scripts line by line can help validate that something has silently flipped on you... not that that's easy with how many scripts you've got running on this one =P

    What's the file name and GT? I might have some time to take a look this weekend.

    Right now it's very barebones, I was trying to block it out for the most part. The central rock was added to break up LOS and there are a couple other places where I think I might want to do that but haven't yet. Besides that, there's one spawn and one respawn so like I said - very barebones.

    That said, use the switch on the glass to open slipspace and try jumping in :)

    As for the scripting... well, idk if it's a glitch or not. What I ended up doing was changing the bravo and delta signals to alpha on and alpha off, which in turn made me change the script sequencing. This still caused me the same problem I was having, which was somehow remedied when I took the second multi script on the switch and changed it to a minimum of 4 instead of 3. No flippin idea why that works, especially when only three of the slots are taken and the other one is perfectly fine with a 3 - but it works. Actually it seemed that that script changed to 2 several times... that could have been it, though I don't know why 4 would then fix it.

    I, too, noticed the glitch you're talking about - I think I may know what the issue is, though, and that is that if you delete a script and then add it, it'll say what it said before but it won't actually be that. That's just one of the possible answers, though, as I've noticed multiple scripting problems.

    Edit: also what's the weapon glitch? I haven't placed any yet

    Spawn a weapon pad, select a weapon, select the REQ variant, then switch the weapon selection to something else.

    For instance, select the Arclight variant, move over to the light rifle then pick up the gun. Zoom in and shoot =)

    So I can't test that for another few hours but basically wtf 343.
    Directory what's-her-name graduated from my university and she came to give a speech this year that I was too busy/distracted to go to. I think I had an appointment or something... or maybe just wanted to game. Either way, I did want to go just so I could ask her "WTF". Ever since they took over Reach's multiplayer they've been really screwing with stuff. Even then they got rid of bloom but only temporarily, not that it matters because bloom meant you couldn't just spam shots...
    I honestly think Reach was my favorite Halo. It was my best multiplayer experience, and 3 was my best customs experience. And they got rid of the beautiful sniper sound from the previous games ugh WHY 343 WTF WHY DID YOU HAVE TO MAKE THE ARMOR STOP LOOKING FUNCTIONAL LIKE IN REACH AND WHY DID YOU GET RID OF ALL CUSTOMIZATION AND WHY DID YOU GET RID OF THE THINGS I ENJOYED MOST ABOUT HALO AND ITS DIRECTION JUST FOR THE SAKE OF A really very nice forge experience that CAN'T BE CAPITALIZED UPON BECAUSE YOU OBLITERATED CUSTOMS I just want Bungie back. Some alternate universe out there has a halo that is still run by Bungie and they've got it good.

    Then again some poor universe has Halo rereleased every year by a different developer.
