Actually by using the same words I was trying to make the point that both sides are pretty much on equal ground and is not really debatable.
No...no. You can only discover what exists on a personal level not what doesn't exist on a personal level. To show that a being does not exist you must use logic. What logic can do is show that impossible beings do not exist what it can't do is show that possible beings exist without evidence or, for your standard of proof, present himself to you emotionally.
Logic is just a set of established laws that "MAKE" sense and are therefore considered true... Logistically I can infer gravity exists but does it really? Logistically I can say that energy is not created nor destroyed but is it? You and I can not prove anything in this entire universe because nothing in it has been proven, it has just been set up as the most logical explanation.
To start, I believe logistically was not the word you were looking for. Logic is descriptive of the universe. It describes behavior, not prescribes. When I say that, logically, square circles do not exist, I do not say it because it is said to not exist but because of the universe's general behavior - it is impossible to exist. See the universe behaves. How it behaves is up to the universe. What we can do is say, 'the universe generally does this.' After we identify what the universe generally does we make an outline of possible behaviors for given scenarios. Square circles do not exist because they do not conform to the universe's behavior. Do you follow? Now, it is important to remember that you believe god exists on a different plane with different rules. Fair enough. I argue, however, that you have no reason to presume this superset of behaviors even exists let alone conforms to "square circles." You have no reason to state that these separate, transcending laws of logic exist. To claim that they do would require absolute knowledge. To claim that they do exist and they carry a law that allows for square-circles is plainly absurd. I want you to take away five things from this: 1). You think, therefore you are. You exist and the universe exists as you perceive it. 2). What you perceive can be defined and observed. Based on these observations you can infer the general behavior of the universe and predicted behaviors. 3). Some behaviors do not require prediction or the assumption of behavior. Square circles and their nonexistence are not predicted; they are presumed because it is a contradiction of itself (a nonexisting dog existing). 4). The possibility of different rules within different limitations have the possibility of existing. Though their set of rules appear to not define our universe's set of rules (if, and only if, they are, in fact, different). 5). The presumption of these different rules within different limitations is absurd because it (A). requires knowledge you do not possess, (B). are logically impossible to access because of your restrictions in this universe's set of rules, and (C). because based on everything in existence it tells us it should not exist as defined. 6). If everything in existence appears very plainly and eloquently to not only point away from square-circles but to give you a straight and narrow path to squares and circles existing separately it is just moronic to attempt to defend the position that square circles exist.
I was just digging through the thread and found some interesting things in here Some pretty creepy stuff in that last one, eh? And I don't remember what page it was on or who posted it but someone in this thread made note of a Bibical Prophecy about America and Iraq. Now, I don't know who this guy is but if someone knows the guy could you please give me his username, i have a message i need to send him. I remember his avatar being a blue backround with an Xbox 360 avatar looking up towards the upper-right corner of the picture
Actually the mark of the beast is 616 so sorry but 666 has no meaning. It's just a mistranslation. It only carries the meaning you give to it. There is no biblical prophesy that can be identified before the fact. It is only after that people make elaborate connections to show the bible predicted an event. I'm sorry my friend but there are no prophecies in the bible that are relevant to modern times.
Wow, I come back to find all of you still arguing. Hmm, maybe it's time to rethink your debate strategy? Make it more fair? To debate, you need a language of communication (DUH) so why don't you go ahead and define the boundaries before you post either a refutation or an argument of your own? My own thinking understands my own thinking, but when I put it down on paper your you guys to read, I find that either.. 1. I'm retarded and my brain functions differently from most humans. 2. I used the wrong word and therefore people don't get my point and I just end up pissing people off... My main mistake was using the word "time". I think it was before this thread even broke fifty when I got here, so all of you may not remember it. So, I ask you to define the words you are going to use that could possibly become controversial BEFORE you make an argument, lest we go on redefining words until they fit us individually.
No, it's 666. There's even a phobia for it. And have you even looked for them? i am 1,000% sure that someone in this thread found a prophecy about America vs Iraq
I'm not sure what you expected to find upon returning. This is a debate that will continue indefinitely, long after no one even remembers what Halo or Forge are. It sounds like you are blaming reactions to your posts on your improper selection(or personal definition) of one or two words. I doubt that's the case, but feel free to define words you will be using in your posts. I would like to say that your avatar represents the most hostile and bullying part of Christianity. It is the approach taken by the "saved" pamphlet pushers in my city as well. They've handed me propaganda pieces on several occasions and declared strongly as they put it in my hand "He died for you!" Let's define some words on your avatar. "Jesus died so you could live." Why did you choose that message for you avatar out of all of Christianity's messages? What response is it meant to invoke from the viewer? I don't see how any other argument could be made except that it is meant to invoke a feeling of guilt and indebtedness. A longer version of your avatar would read: "Jesus is dead. He died because you are a sinner. It's your fault. You basically killed him. Do you enjoy your life? Well I'm sure Jesus would be too if he didn't have to get nailed to that cross just because you couldn't keep your sinning under control. You owe him big time. After all you wouldn't even be living if it wasn't for the extreme sacrifice he had to make for you. You better get to a church right away and pray for forgiveness. Try not to sin on the way there....sinner!" That's what I see when I read it. I'm sure you see something completely different, so let's hear your definition.
Yeah you can point to things after the fact and make connections that aren't there. This doesn't mean the bible is prophetic. You can do the same thing with any book. No, it's 616. I'm sorry but you need to learn your religion before you start trying to defend it. 666 is the classical translation of the mark of the beast. Recent finds however have shown this to be false and the original numbers to be 616. The phobia only exists because people give meaning to a number that otherwise has none (both biblically and literally).
Yeah, it's the same with the number 13. It's just a number but people put a negative meaning to it. As long as no one touches my beloved number four. That is my lucky nubmer, so no one try to destroy it.
I find your extrapolation rather absurd. Here is some light reading to help you with your problem.(a little out of the original context) you, too. Don't click. What reaction do you believe that phrase is meant to invoke from the viewer? "Jesus died so you could live." When it's used as a recruitment tool or a graphic marketing piece such as the one in Prosper's avatar, I think it's a pretty cheap shot meant to guilt or scare you into believing. Maybe you could extrapolate your interpretation of it so I can see where I went absurd.
I go it catholic scool and im atheist but they dont care fun fact: the bible is the most stolen book in the world
Besides the fact that this has nothing to do with the debate, 'they' isn't specified. If it's your teachers or parents, fine. They have every right not to care what you think until you become a full citizen, and every right to force you to go to Catholic school. In addition to the Bible statement being completely random and without any facts or source behind it, and completely besides the point, even if it is true, it's also by the most printed and popular book ever, along with being the most valued book as well for a good many people. Now that I'm done with that...to the main point: read the board rules before you post, especially in the Debates forum.
I'd just like to say you are a full citizen no matter your age and your parents, no matter how persuasive, cannot force you to believe anything and have legal justification behind it... ...Though, they can take your xbox away.
I didn't say they can force you to think something, but they can force you to go to catholic school, if you like it or not.
They really can't. Its all about balance. You can be entirely independent and sacrifice everything if that's your bag. Just give child services a call.
