The way I see it. God exists. An athesist point of view does not make sense to me. I mean saying nothing came from nothing and that nothing made nothing. Now for me all I have to do is look around me and see and I have my proof. How else could we have gotten here? Now some athesists might say Big Bang. Yet what in itself created the big bang. All you have to do is look around and now that a Supreme Celestial Being does exist.

There is a God is all I am saying belive in it or not there is a God. USe your reason not your faith or feelings to see it. Because faith and feelings are the warm marrow of evil. Reason above all points out the truth.

Well I think of it this way our universe has been destroyed and remade for eternity we are in one period between being destroyed again. I think all the black holes that are eating up space and galasies as we speak will combine with one anouther like they actualy do until there is nothing left besides this one point where everything is held and then ,boom it starts all over.
Then the process continues and continues untill there is nothing . How did the cycle get started well we don't know its happened to many times to be able to measure but to say something created this reality would be unimaginable. To think one being created everything is impossible because then you'd have to know what created him and the paradox continues forever.

Let's not forget the Abortions, the Bio-Terrorist's, weapons of mass destruction, radiation, the destruction of the O-Zone, destruction of the environment, destruction of our natural resources, weapons, drugs, organized gangs, cloning, junk food, home entertainment (T.V's Consoles, Computers).

Science has helped the human race become lazy, dumber, and much more disastrous.

Science also helps people stay alive longer. Do you want to move back into the Dark Age? I know I don't.

What if this being was already there? Nothing is impposible. Anything can happen is it likely to happen no, yet it still can happen. A SUpreme Celstial being does not have to be created. In fact if you look into any type of mythology it will say the beings were created by something already there. I admit it does not say what created this being but in definition does a god trully have to be created. Can he not already exist.

If a god does not have to be "created", why does the universe?

    We've been listening scop...

THE BIG BANG IS NOT A THEORY OF THE ORIGIN OF THE UNIVERSE. Personally, I don't believe that's where everything came from. it's just a theory based on the scientific discoveries of the expansion of the universe. We don't know where everything came from, that's the answer.
I'm sure there are so many possible ways that we could have got here that cant even be conceived. As for a god making humans in his image with a purpose and judgement? It's doubtful and not something people should KNOW is real. Based on hard facts and discoveries, nothing really points to the existence of a god.

Faith is nice to have, i have nothing wrong with it. But you know for a fact that God exists based on faith?

I'll use the diamond analogy. If i have enough faith that there's a huge ****ing diamond buried in my backyard that means it's there. Right? I'm going to dig every sunday exerting myself and using my time to try and find the diamond. It's not wasted time if i have enough faith for the diamond being there right? The answer is opinion. As for it being reasonable to take a diamond in my backyard as fact and truth? It's not. The diamond most likely isn't there. God most likely doesnt exist based on reason.
    Faith =/= Using reason.

Would you want to be alive during the Apocalyptic Age, it's not really an age but with the weapons we have now and what science has given us this may happen any time soon, if anything I doubt the human race will get past 2050 without some global catastrophe such as the O-Zone depleting or Nuclear War.

    No, that's science.

This is what I don't get. You are willing to believe a divine being is eternal, but think that an eternal universe is unlikely. Are they not two sides of the same coin? What makes these two situations different?
EDIT: I just saw Norlinsky's post a page back, lol.

True. Yet something on such a vast scale would have to come from something. Yet in that I stick a foot in my mouth. Lets put it this way. THe Universe did not just appear from nothing. Because nothing can appear from nothing. Yet you would possibly say your saying God did. No I am not. What I am saying that before nothing could ever come to being this Supreme Celstial Being was already there. He did not have to be created he was just already there. He never appeared he was jsut there.

I am not against abortion or weapons of mass destruction as long as they are kept in check and not given to anyone. Also we are trying to repair the O zone with new green technologies which save the environment and can repair it. This also makes natural resources more plentiful and us less reliant on them. Weapons are made to defend our selves gangs are just misunderstood and should be looked at more as a society problem not a science one. Drugs were made to help and cure the sick but if abused became harmful but thats not its original purpose is it . Nothing wrong with cloning and theres no such thing as junk food just people who choose to make poor choices. Home entertainment is just that to entertain people at home. Any of these can be an issue but thats only if people choose to use or abuse them from their original purposes. Knowledge doesn't hurt people people hurt people when they misinterpret the knowledge. Science has always been a tool but how we use it is the issuse not science its self.

I'd say that an all-powerful being is more vast and complex than a universe. Unless you mean that our universe is so extensive and a god is a single being, then I still would have to believe both would have to come from either something, or nothing.

Oh, and Rain, I'd rather die in a few seconds with today's weapons rather than dying slowly with a spear through my chest.

A thought process created by humans, no? It seems you are blaming the gun and not the weilder.

DOes hard facts and discoveries have to prove their is a God. Peopel already know we are not meant to understand God. Discoveries or hard facts would tell you that as well. Besides there is a big Universe out there. Just because somethign we discovered here does not mean there is not something else out there that would prove us totally wrong.

Give someone a match and sticks and their "will" be fire.

Basically you refuse to blame science for the bad and blame it on peoples choices, yet you don't do the same for God.

True yet still think on the possibility he did not come from nothing nor did he come from something. THink on the possibilty he was just there.

Then what created god? In our reality there always has to be a beginning, and eventually an end to everything that exists. I believe that there are concepts that we, human beings, can't even perceive (i.e. everlasting entities without a beginning). We are incapable of understanding the concept that somethings are everlasting and always have been, and that is one of the main reasons why people don't believe in a God, and why some people do.

    Hypocritical?

You blame the gun (God) and not the wielder (humans)

Science is a tool and people use it as they will . Some for good some for bad. I would say the same for God if people stopped using him to answer all there problems when it won't help them in the long run. Science is always trying to improve so it can help people religion and god just say follow me and my teachings or you will burn . I don't accept that as good reasoning or choice.

    @ the above post
Don't blame the gun it did its job . Its the responsibility of the wielder to make the right choice. but if the gun has a mind of its own and mis fires well you got a broken gun.
