I'm responding to an arrogant kid. -.- Everthing's a contest, isn't it? My ability to make relevant posts that contribute to this forum is much more than simply copy and pasting.
I just realized that when someone makes a point on either side of the debate it is completely ignored... I'm not trying to say I don't do it, because I am guilty of such acts. But it's sort of getting annoying... I read everything and if I can't answer I don't insult or make a witty remark against the debater to get out of the situation I just don't reply and wait for someone with better knowledge to get us out of the sinkhole. So really, the point is that was just retarded of you to say, copying and pasting is a lot easier then typing out five paragraphs in your own words, it also gives a source for which the opposing side can gather more data and also use against...
I wouldn't call most of that info too relevant. For the most part it is you claiming that emotions prove god (or something), or using the God of the Gaps argument. When you did give relevant arguments they were immediately disputed. Not too much to gloat about.
They were not immediately disputed and you know that. I've put effort into this topic just like any other person. You can't honestly put up that argument. Every single person has been disputed either way.. I mean, how the hell did I become the bad guy? Would you like to back that up with non-opinionated and non-"personal" evidence? Please do.
I'd like to ask one thing. If we were created by a god what is our meaning or purpose for the God? "Whats the meaning of life" and how does god fit in? Why would a all powerful and all knowing being need us or ever bother with us? If we were made by a god I think he would have given us a purpose. Is that purpose lost or was it never given to us because no one made us?
I was approached by two ladies wearing smocks today while i was outside and they gave me the whole scoop on the christian religion. They told me that being a good person is not enough to go to heaven. Being a bad person however will make you go to hell. They also said that no matter how bad of a person you are you will go to heaven as long as you believe in jesus and that he died to save us. Religion in general just lost its value for me. I saw religion as a service to teach people morals and things, but now it doesn't matter as long as you believe in their messiah, and their way of things. Oh well, i just became more atheist.
No, I do not think I'm arrogant.. at least in this topic. Seems like you asked more than one thing to me.. Are you going to rephrase that, or do you want an answer to all of those?
Well it could use refrasing but the main question is "what is the meaning of life " and yes answer them.
lol okay... but the only way I can answer these is through my opinion.. The only one that knows the true answers is God. I think only God could answer that one. I think God wants people to be able to strengthen their own lives through this Earthly life. To be able to strengthen themselves with other people, and to learn to be open to all forms of.. everything. After all, you don't live until you die. I think it's because he loves and He wants people to love back. Idk, it's just my opinion really. That purpose has always been there, and that's a fact. I think God divides those who are pure from those who aren't. This way of life helps Him see who is a true follower and who isn't. ..This is entirely opinionated.. but what did you expect. There are no true answers for these questions atm, so I can only say what I think.
Why would a god so loving want to send us to hell for eternity to suffer? And allow diseases like cancer to exist?
You learn from your mistakes on Earth (that's why God forgives almost everything), and if you're too stubborn to do anything about it by the time you're at least 30, then you've decided your own fate... but I'm not sure if that goes for all people, such as the mentally ill.. : /
Do you expect anyone super famous to stop everything that they're doing, and come console you? No. If you want to see a band, you go to their concert. They don't go to you and they don't decide for you to love them. You can't expect God to be the exact opposite.
I couldn't state that as fact even if I wanted to, because this will turn into an omnipresence argument.
