I'm really starting to like it, and see how much of an advantage it could be when using it. Anyone have any tips on how to use it better, or how to get used to it faster/ easier?
Keep playing, that's about it. You'll make a lot of chokes at first, but after a few days it'll feel pretty natural.
Campaign makes a good pain free way to get used to it. And you might want to practice some of the jumps you could do before, like the Power Drain to Rocket jump on Foundry, your timing will be different.
Just keep playing with it. I played social rumble pit a couple of times, then some customs, and then using it I got my 45 on LW the next day.
What I would do is pratice on playing on social slayer where players arnt that great or not that bad. I usually go into social slayer to get warmeed up for a ranked game. I think that I play better on the normal, but ill try bumper jumper. Good luck!
Gah I've been playing super bad after switching it, I turned my sensitivity down to 1 and still can't snipe... I hope it's just a slump. :[
Um, don't get frustrated and switch back to default, because when you decide to go back to Bumper Jumper, you'll repeat the process and continue to be pissed over and over. I use it and being able to keep your thumb on the joystick while jumping has it's advantages. People I play against always say before I kill them "Where did he go!?!111!?!?one!!!!1111??" because I would jump over them and kill them. Just practice, practice, practice. It also makes those difficult jumps easier during a match.
WTF? the diference is on the jump and reload. How cant you snipe anymore? This should remain the same. Its the trigger to shot remains the same! lol
The whole button layout is throwing my whole game off... Anyone wanna play some BR arenas/ MLG FFA's to help me get used to it? And work on my BR/ Snipe?
For awhile I stopped playing halo. After three months I came back and switched my controller scheme to bumper jumper. It took me around two weeks to get fully accustom to playing bumper jumper. Take your time, don't switch any settings, and just get use to it.
Play social skirmish, thats what I did when I switched although, I got used to it after about 2 or 3 hours.
I actually went back to play Halo 2 the other day, and it still is easier to switch from Bumper Jumper to Default than the other way around. But Bumper Jumper really doesn't have many flaws...
It's true, when I first switched to bumper jumper, my game declined. It took me one whole month to get it back up but it's so worth the switch because you do MUCH better in game variants involving swords. I'm serious, I am BEAST with swords.
I imagine that you could also try to play on some gametypes with low amounts of ammunition and close combat. This would really emphasize the changes of picking up weapons, meleeing, and jumping.
Well. i would say it took me 2 weeks to get used to BJ, but i think it worth it. I not only improved my game, but I also feel more confortable with BJ than with "default" before. Its very funny to see your friends frustrated when you start jumping around them and they cant hit you (when 1x1). Of course without BJ its almost impossible to control your jumps like that.
I tried bumper jumper, I couldn't play with it at all. Then I was at a party with my friends and a friend of mine changed my account to bumper jumper. I was too lazy to change it and have stuck with it ever since.
