Recently I wanted to make a duck hunt map (for the mini game). After completing it, I find out about the limitations of the flood gametype. It took hours to figure it out, but this is a method to "simulate" infection in specific circumstances, I don't think it will work in a lot of cases where infection is needed though. 1. Use FFA Gametype. 2. Set 1 initial spawn in the snipers box. 3. Set all other spawns. 4. In gametype settings, set damage to 0% and set default loadout to a magnum. Change the other settings you want the "ducks" to have here to. 5. Use a trait zone around the snipers box to allow for infinite ammo, and then the main thing is to set damage to 100% so they can shoot the ducks. also you would drop a sniper at the spawn so the "hunter" could pick them up. 6. add another trait zone to allow for melee (set melee to 100%) near the button or mechanisim that will allow the duck to kill the hunter at the end of the course. This was the only way I was able to make the duck hunt gametype, since infection had died off. Don't hesitate to ask any questions. I will be doing a video about it in the next few days (cheap plug - Hadi Plays - HadiPlays.Com - YouTube ) This likely won't work for most gametypes that used to use infection, since this only takes effect when the player/zombie is in the trait zone. Sorry if it had already been posted/figured out but I saw a duck hunt thread last night and he/she was using a modded gametype (i think). This is a legit way around it. I tried your idea when Halo 4 first came out. I did pretty much the same thing. The problem I had was the initial spawn point was not random. In other words the first round was a random person and then it just made the host the initial spawn point over and over again not switching to a different person to be the sniper. I just wish flood could use weapons. That would have solved all the problems. I really don't understand why 343 did this??
I had this problem too, but got around. I will try show it in the video, but essentially I placed 2 initial spawn points, and the rest of the points in the duck spawn are all respawn points which take priority over randomly generated map spawn points. It works fine
I am still confused about what you are saying. I tired what you said as well a little while back and every round after the first was always the host. I was using KOTH FFA however for a different type of mini game. If you can take a pic or video that would be cool.
Flood can still use vehicles right? You could use the flood gametype, but switch roles so the survivor is the sniper and the ducks are flood. Then when the duck reaches the end of the course, instead of a teleporter to the sniper, there's a teleporter to a tank. I think you can figure out the rest.
How would you set the amount of survivors? I remember a friend and I tried it, there was something which just didn't work
what if i told you i had a flood gametype set to where zombies... were human and could use guns? and that the alpha zombie was glitched out and disabled because sprint was disabled for some reason.
