LEVEL 4 GUIDE: Here is a brief guide to the level, but I highly recommend you use only if you are really stuck. Note that this doesn’t cover everything, but it does go over some of the more tricky sections. FOR ANY GOLF SHOTS, read the above advice. Ultimately, you just have to keep trying and adjusting angles until you get it. Spoiler: GERUDO TRIALS You must complete all trials to get to the desert. These must be completed in order. TRIAL A: 1. Make your way into the fort. You must get on the other side of the shield. Boost jump outside and around to the other door. The switch will deactivate shields and you can make your way to the top. 2. Make your way to the top. The lava is drained by shooting a barrel underneath the hieroglyph. Find weapons on either side of the fort, they are well hidden in a nook you have to jump up to. Alternatively there are weapons underneath the stairs before Trial C. Drain the lava and hit the switch to deactivate the shield. 3. Solve the combo. You may have noticed a few numbers with colors scattered throughout the entire trial areas. These are all a segment of a 10 part combo. Some locations include beneath the Triforce stairs, behind a rock, underneath the temple stairs, behind the temple, and by the teleporter. You may have to type/write down if your memory sucks. The diver man will reset with the incorrect combo. Additionally, the colors of the switches change. You may have to manipulate them to start out correctly and then use the black switch in the middle to reset the diver man. Once input correctly, the first Triforce will activate. TRIAL B: 1. The shield will fall upon completion of Trial A. Bash or shoot the broken wall into the basement. Approaching the switch on the left will make the outside pillar fall over. Climb around to the back. A shield blocks your ball for the moment. Push the golf ball around the structure to the basement to open a door. This leads to the switch that manipulates the shield. 2. Climb back up and reset the ball using the switch and now carefully push it up the ramps and into the pipe. The ball will be blocked, but hit the shield switch in the basement for the ball to drop. This will open the front door. Finally push the ball on the galaxy area to light the second Triforce. TRIAL C: 1. The shield will fall upon completion of Trial B. Look up and shoot the broken platform to drop a golf ball. Ball can be reset using the switch. 2. The concept of this puzzle involves finding the right path for the soccer ball. First look at the hint on the wall which basically says step on the golf ball. You can push it, but walking on top of it is MUCH easier and controlled. Second, find the right path indicated by green lights. It’s easiest to Spartan walk it first to find the right path and then match up the soccer ball walk to it. Get the ball to the red lights. 3. This will drop the glass shield. Then get the ball to the switch behind the pig shrine. If the ball fell earlier, you can now just hit it across. Once depressed, this will activate the third Triforce and open the pathway to the desert. Spoiler: TOWER OF TIME ASCENT - Don’t forget to open the checkpoint first. Most of the jumps are self-explanatory and this is mainly an endurance run. There are a few that require you to jump sideways and then boost forward. Be careful not to hit your head on the last jump. Open the checkpoint at the top. Spoiler: TOWER OF TIME GUARDIANS 1. You will notice the scorpion, but the golf balls are covered. Look down the sides of the tower and look for an orange hint light. You need to jump into there and activate a switch. This unlocks the scorpion shots. 2. The guardians themselves require golf ball hits in the red eye part. Scorpion is completed before Spider. Concept is easy enough, but execution will take trial and error. Look at Golf Ball hints in the above post if you have trouble. Spoiler: DAY, NIGHT, AND WAY FORWARD Once the Guardians are defeated, you now have the ability to freely change between day and night. Simply hit the ball into the corresponding portal to activate. Different things can be accomplished during the day and night, usually indicated by a sun or moon symbol. From here you must find the 2 Hyrule Gems: Water and Fire. Only then will Jabba Jabu, open the passage forward. Some of this is non-linear. Spoiler: FIRE GEM 1. This is obtained by going into the pyramid. The top is open only during the day. Read the hieroglyphs in order on the side of the pyramid before descending down the hole at the top. 2. This is a timed section where you will sink in the sand. In order to get pulled out, you must shoot the hieroglyphs you saw on the outside of the pyramid in order and be fast about it. There are some decoy hieroglyphs. Elevations of the hieroglyphs are all different, but from looking at the Anubis statue, it is left wall, right, back, front, statue. Sometimes the puzzle will need to be reset by a switch near the man cannon at the base of the pyramid. 3. Don’t forget to blow up the checkpoint in the corner. Shoot the red pipe switch to drop Mongeese. Carefully drive them up to the next section. Your Mongoose can activate the 2 red block switches. There is a mid-checkpoint with stairs too. On the double bounce section, try giving it full speed with only 1/3 of the ramp remaining. 4. There are a couple ways to complete the jumping bouncy part. What you have equipped matters, sword seems to be best for jumping. You can jump and boost from the back of the platform at a steep angle to hit the first bouncy and then the other 3, and your boost will come back right at the end to get the pipe. Or you can just do a straight jump and only have one boost at the end. The final part reveals some blocks upon switching to night only. Some sideways and then boost jumps. Followed by a jump out and then boost back block at the end. Grab the gem! Spoiler: WATER GEM 1. Pick up a fishing rod in a set of trees beyond the oasis. Day or night works here. 2. Go back to the oasis at night as indicated by the moon symbol. An icon will become active. Interact and fish the crab out of the water. 3. During the day, go over to the whirlwind area beyond the pyramid. You must get on top of the flying carpet to barter with the merchant. A couple ways to do this. Driving and trying to get all 3 whirlwinds to line up is the first. However, the easier way is to get on top of the rocks in Spartan mode and get lifted up with them and you can get a jump off of it. The patterns will constantly change, but the timing will eventually work out every few rotations. You really only need the lowest and highest whirlwind to line up; the middle one is a nicety. Give the merchant the crab and he will give you a Bomb Flower and dance! 4. Return the bomb to the oasis cave. Interact with the icon to drop the Bomb Flower and blow up the cave door. Behind it you will find the Water Gem. Spoiler: WARDOG SCARAB 1. After you have both gems, go to Jabba Jabu during the day and place them on the wall. This will unlock the final boss. 2. Wardog is a tough boss with multiple hits. First he has a shield that can be temporarily dropped. You must shoot the green dots (top left, top right, bottom center) within 3 seconds of each other to drop the shield for about 30 seconds. During this time, you can take golf shots at him to hit the green dots. There are 3 total. 3. Once you hit him 3 times, he will become angry and shake the platform down. In the grav lift, you can now grapple the stairs to make your way to the top. The switch will activate a kill ball and respawn every 40 seconds or so. This final part is akin to the Forest Temple fight with Ganondorf. You must hit the ball back and forth until you win. Then take the flying pig to the speeder!
