    Map Title: Gazebo
A small, asymmetrical map configured for all gametypes. 2-8 players.

    Description:
This is Gazebo, named after the gazebo-like structure that is the centerpiece of the map, around which two bases connected by a wood path curve in sort of a U-shape.

I built this map up in the sky bubble after playing about a dozen different maps up there that all had one thing in common - it was far too easy to fall to your death. So, I built this map with the goal in mind that players would have enough space to move around without having to worry too much about falling off. Here's a few wide-angle shots of the whole map

While the map is structurally asymmetrical, it has some symmetrical qualities that come in handy for symmetrical gametypes. Both bases and spawn areas have the same amount spawn points and access to the same weapon sets, with the Rockets at the center of the wood path and the Overshield in the gazebo structure.

I constructed the path between the two bases with wooden boards for the sake of providing a visual contrast in the scenery that would help separate the bases made of stone blocks.

I haven't actually played on this yet, but I plan on doing so tonight, so I'll get back to this thread with some action shots soon. If any of you get a chance to play it, please let me know how it turns out.

    spam much?

i really like the looks of the map, i love the circular hole in the blue base, the central stepped structure is also very cool.

the only problem i see is the jump people have to make to get to the middle structure, maybe you could add a walkway on the space between the ramp and the steps because a lot of people will get annoyed of falling there.

i am not sure if it needs anything else... maybe you could add a bubble shield to counteract the power drainer.

    good looking map

Do you have anything spawning in the gazebo? Because from the looks of it it is going to need something pretty good for people to want to move to such an enclosed area. Like a sniper, rockets, or grav hammer. Just not shotgun.

But overall this looks good. Saving this thread so i can test this map out when my box gets back from being red ringed.

    Mhm.

I think that's pretty worthwhile. The neutral bomb also spawns there, there's a territory there, a ball spawn, a hill marker... plus it's another path from one end of the map to the other - I'm positive that space will get used.

Thanks. Please let me know what you think when do you get a chance to play it.

I tested those jumps repeatedly and it's pretty difficult to **** them up, no crouching or late jumps needed or anything. I'll consider modifying that area if I get any complaints after some play testing.

That may be a good idea - perhaps give one team the bubble and the other the drainer (I messed up in my original post - there's two drainers, one in front of each base, so this probably works out as is, but it's a good idea anyway). I'll think about it after I get some games in. Thanks for commenting.
