Im sure we all have had that one or two games that had you hooked, at least, until next gen stuff comes out. Some of those games that loads of people have enjoyed have often been remade. Put down a list of games you would enjoy to see remade. Me first I guess: Halo Remakes: No idea how these will turn out, but it would be nice to see how they look and play. Battlefield 2142/2143: Even though I bought the game like five years after launch in which the game was effectively dead, I really enjoyed it, would be awesome to see how it would look like in Frostbite 2 and with a campaign . Final Fantasy VII: I only played the game a short way through, but it was an awesome game, I had actually at a few points started watching some of the game to see how it played. VII is the most wanted game to be remade and would be wicked with voice acting and in the luminous engine.
Abe's Oddysee/Exoddus. I know Oddysee is being remade currently, but I don't know if it's going to be on 360. And if they're doing Oddysee, they can't not do Exoddus. It would be a crime against humanity.
Man FFVII remake would be amazing. Playstation has been very vocal on not remaking it yet. They would make millions and million of dollars.
There's something about remaking an old classic that doesn't feel just right. I think Halo Anniversary was a bit of an outlier since it's still an ongoing series and they were able to make it look new, but feel classic too. However, I don't think that's possible with every old classic. Some games are classic just because they were so archaic... and trying to combine new with old- nonsensical-ness wouldn't really work. My two cents. Wouldn't mind seeing battlefront 2 remade personally, however
Quake 3: Team Arena and Unreal Tournament (original 1999 & 2000). These shooters will forever be king in my book. I don't think anything ever will top them in the FPS genre. I know these two games have had sequels, but they're like the Alien and Predator franchise... they both just went downhill with more additions. Time to take it back old school and bring back the classics.
I think it'd be interesting to remake Fallout 1 and 2 but in the newer style of Fallout games. But what I really yearn for is a Resident Evil 2 remake like the Resident Evil remake for Gamecube. Same game at its core, polished gameplay and extremely polished environments. Capcom makes money and old fanboys like myself are also extremely satisfied. Also what Fenix said.
I'm With Fenix Hulk there on the original UT games.... Final Fantasy 7 is also a game I would love to see remade ... that and going back to old school Streets of Rage
FF7 for sure. I spent more time on that game than I have forging. I got the Knights of the Round materia.
Timesplitters. TS2 could be interesting with the gameplay from TSFP. I wouldn't mind TSFP as well, but TS2 couldn't be played online, so that would be a new experience. Deus Ex. with improved graphics and some ameliorations from Human Revolution (such as being able to read people's emotions) it could be totally awesome.
Star Wars Battle Front 2. The Mech Assault games. While there not insanely old, updated graphics, better voice casting and enhanced multiplayer would be great.
I would very much like to see a Halo 2 anniversary for the Xbox. Much like Halo CE Anniversary which was made by 343, I want Halo 2 to be remade with today's graphics but its gameplay should be kept original.
More games like Banjo Kazooie would be nice. I know it's highly unlikely but if Donkey Kong 64 was ported to XBLA, I would buy that ****. Edit: Meant to post this into the XBLA thread but oh well, here's fine.
I don't know about remakes -- spiritual successors perhaps. That seems less cash-grabby. I'd love to see some new Jedi Knight games, and I guess some remakes of the older ones would be nice. As long as they have a style similar to the Jedi Knight 2: Jedi Outcast, that is, not mindless corridor shooters. Oh, maybe a new Republic Commando game? Or something similar? A new Battlefront (never got the pleasure of playing the first two, but I understand they were quite good and similar to a Battlefield game)? And maybe, just maybe, KotOR III? Now that Disney had an intervention and stopped LucasArts from mishandling the franchise any further, we may look forward to some decent Star Wars games in the future.
