I've tried to link my gamertag before, but I've never been successful. I don't know where to begin, and I've heard that you need a Hotmail account, which I tried to set up unsuccessfully. Halp! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to eat breakfast.
Well you need a windows live email thats connected to your xbox live account. So if you have like a gmail email I'm pretty sure it won't work. Somewhere on the dashboard and like under account management I think you can switch your xbox live accounts email to something new. So basically make a windows live email and then switch the account email to the windows live one. After that all you should have to do is to sign into xbox.com (I also sign into bungie.net with it to) with your new windows live account email and it should link you.
Wrong. What you need to have is a 'Passport' for your email address. I linked my GMail account so I could use Windows Live Messenger and that then also worked for my Xbox Account. I suppose you're talking about linking it to Bnet? Bungie.net has answers
So... I used my dad's e-mail for my gamertag originally. I created a Windows Live ID thing with his e-mail. Now... where do I go from here? My family uses AOL for emailing purposes, FYI.
If you've linked your dads email with a windows live one then I believe you just sign in with your AOL email on xbox.com and bungie.net?
Whenever I try to sign in to Xbox.com or link my gamertag using the button, it takes me to this link.
