Flying Shoe ILR and myself have been working on a co-forge project for quite some time. A few of you have likely heard a little bit about it, but it was so secret for us to tell you. Tonight, I present to you Full Life Consequences! This map contains many unique elements that make for a truly one-of-a-kind gameplay experience. It's a 1v1 map and is also our submission to the $5000 budget contest. I forget exactly how much budget we have left, but it is far over $5000. First of all, the map is built using some of Forge World's natural terrain. However, this terrain has, i believe, not been used before in a competitive map. Another unique element of the map is that players have the ability to walk up walls anywhere in the map. This isn't some headache-inducing trick built around a 45 degree angle, this is the real deal. Yet another unique aspect of the map is the flare. if a player activates the flare in the center of the map, all players throughout the map will be temporarily blinded. Finally, the map has a power weapon rarely seen: a heavy machine gun. These are not turrets, and spawn on their own with no tripods. The map's gameplay is fairly straightforward. The main path is very linear, but players can walk up the walls, mixing things up with vertical gameplay. the other path is what we call the 'sneaky beaver path". Players can use this path to flank their enemies and gain an advantage. I really don't think the screenshots do the map justice. And now the moment you've all been waiting for: Spoiler The map's inspiration: Half life: Full Life Consequences‏ - YouTube And now, for some screenshots: This is Bob, he's happy. He also acts as a flare in game. Walking up walls: A bit of action, note the flare is going off: The sneaky beaver path: I hope everyone enjoys this exciting glimpse of such an awesome upcoming map! constructive criticism is greatly appreciated! Disclaimer: Spoiler Q: Is this a joke? A: Probably. Q: Is this map glitched or modded or something? A: No, it is not. Q: Is this really the super secret project you and Shoe have been working on? A: No, we made this in twenty minutes tonight. We are working on something awesome. Q: Since when are disclaimers Q&As? A: Since right now. Deal with it.
Wtf. I was like WOAH THAT SOUND OSSUM then I was what DER ef when I saw the screenshots? I dont know how to take this. Is awesome or is it full of derpies? Only time will tell...
That's kinda retarded. If you're serious about the turret thing then I'm interested, but otherwise this is a bit silly. I suppose you can walk up the walls because they're so close together?
Lol so true I should post some super unrelated map 'preview' to a new map and say its a cryptic puzzle.
If the details you provided were actually accurate for the map you're making for the 5kB Contest, then it sounds awesome. But if they were just a joke to accompany the silly screenshots, then you have made me a sad panda because they sounded cool. Please provide clarification soon, because I may punch a kitten out of frustration. Or possibly just be slightly irritated.
I still feel we should have set this up for invasion, I had high hopes for this map. Ok, serious time. We made this last night and decided after I accidentally made some ladder pieces (you can jump up the blocks between the blocks and the glass) that no one should go without playing this. The flare does blind you from most of the map, you can climb any wall, there is a risky "sneaky beaver path", and yes, there are turrets without tripods. 4 of them to be exact. It's set up for slayer and flag, so come play it with us some time! We need to play flag without flag at home this time. Edit: And we are not making a submission for the 5k contest together.
Ah, you would have wasted them anyway. I'm curious about the machine guns with no tripods - how did you pull that off?
Physcoduck, you need to stop making map previews. On a serious note, I don't think this warrant's a post. You said it yourself it was made in 20 minutes. But I guess a lot of map previews nowadays are worse, so whatever.
So this was kindof a joke... but the map is still pretty awesome if you can get past how stupid it is. I stand by what Shoe said about everyone owing it to themselves to get a game on. Shoe accidentally spawned all of the turrets inside the tiny room and they all randomly, instantly fell off their tripods. Everything I said in the OP is true, even if the whole thing was a joke. ^someone can't spell my name.
Dude, that's true of all my maps. Stop copying my steez yo. Ooh, weird. I wonder if it's a space issue. Need to experiment with drop-spawning machine guns out of tiny holes in the ceiling...
Wow, I was thinking about whether I spelled it right too . Well since it's a joke, I guess it's okay. Even if I still have no idea what it is.
It was surprisingly fun game we played, I just wish we hadn't had flag at home. Seriously, that was the worst part about it. Don't worry though, I guarantee my next map will take more than 20-40 minutes to make/ test. Think of this as a funny almost-piece-of-crap that you can play a few games on and laugh about. Seriously, just enjoy whatever way you wish.
i am nominating this for FHF and for a feature, if this does not win i will be disapointed, a map where you can walk up any wall? how dare you not consider this map, what a shame.
