I've been working on a project for a new zombie gametype. This gametype allows about sixteen different zombies in a single match. This whole gametype/map thing is based on a Half Life 2 modification called Zombie Master. Humans get a choice from a small number of weapons with different abilities at combating the undead. While the walking corpses get up to sixteen choices of zombie with their own different atributes. This provides for orginal gameplay everytime it is played. It also provides humans to choose very wisely how they act, as well as few scares every now and then. Two maps have been made and a map pack with a release of five maps will be heading on soon as well as many more. But will you play this? Making maps takes a very long time and I don't want to a huge amount of work for no reason. Just tell me what you think of my idea and thanks for your time.
I really like the idea but I tried something like that and it was really hard. Could you please describe how this is going to work.
You know, I've really been playing around with this idea for different gametypes like (of course) Infection and Objective gametypes, but the only way I can think of doing something like what you're describing is having players spawn in a cage of some sort with different weapons, equipment, and possibly a power-up, then have a teleporter that takes them to the main area of battle...... ........but that's lame, so, could you please please tell us how your way of doing this class thing is gonna work?
yah, i think we are all pretty much dying to know how this works, maybe a few custom powerups, some weapons... idk im starting to think this is actually not possible, you just have to prove me wrong
The idea of classes has been done before. Like a year ago on last resort before foundry came out, and it was for slayer. Anywho, the guy got lots of downloads, and people loved it if I remember correctly, but expectations are higher when you are on foundry. Make sure the maps are good. I cant stress enough how important it is that the maps are good. If you make 5 crappy maps it DOES NOT equal 1 good one. In fact, it equals 1 very BAD one because it takes up more space. Even if you have a different idea, you must apply it correctly, or it will suck. If the pyramids were built crappily, do you think anyone would go to egypt to look at them?
