Wow just by the pictures of the map and the amount of excitement in your description of the forge process, I can tell that this is going to be high quality and very popular map. The aesthetics on the map are very convincing and there is no mistake that I'm in a creepy ass carnival. Amazing and inspirational ****!
Very cool idea for a theme. I don't think I've seen this done in Halo 5 yet. Some possible gameplay and layout issues I'm seeing but for the most part, this looks like a good attempt for a first Infection map. P.S. Weapons aren't supposed to respawn in Infection. And Battle Rifles shouldn't be included.
Awesome man thanks. What were your concerns about the layout? And wow, I'm dumb. I'll fix that tomorrow. I'll also replace BR with DMR. Also, all of the rides (other than merry go round) cant be climbed or anything. Honestly, going with this theme there was the inherent struggle of making these rides and attractions defendable but not them being crazy powerful. Like I said in the description, I really tried to make it fun for humans and infected. Testing will determined if the holdouts are OP or need a buff. The only concern I can see being a problem is the open lane between funhouse and midway. Might need to add some cover, but I have no idea what can be done aethestically for that cover, short of being lazy and using crates.
I can walk around the map with you in Forge and point out some of the potential problems if you'd like. It's much better to do it that way than for me to type a wall of text listing the map's issues along with the Infections dos and don'ts. A couple of weeks ago, I was actually thinking about how cool a carnival would be for an Infection map. Just from images, it looks pretty well made. And like Zandril said, there would be a few issues with too little cover in many places. I'll look through it today, and give a little advice on some things that I see. Definitely gonna play this on my custom game nights.
Thanks! I could see some of the main path around the map needing more cover, but I think after some play testing, all of the problems will become more clear. Like I said in the map description, even if Freakshow plays like ****, I'll fix it, because I love the look and feel and see it having potential Also, something to be noted is while the main path is pretty open, there are a lot of sneakys and stuff for the infected to use. Usually, there is always a sneakier way to get to a holdout or between structures. I guess because when I am infected I am more of a sneaky type, I designed the map for that play style. Adding more cover definitely could add some options for people that like to rush though.
Very cool theme. I could see this making the Halo lifestream for sure! Reminds me of carnival from MW2.
Thanks man! That would be so cool if it did aha. And yeah, Carnival was referenced a bit, especially with the funhouse. Also, American Horror Story and The Park, and just random pictures of abandoned carnivals from like europe and japan and stuff. Btw everyone, the weapons have been fixed and I added a bit more cover in a few places. I'm considering just blocking off the sightless in the upstairs of the castle with some walls. I think this will provide cover to a lot of the map (because the upstairs has like the best lines of sight on the map), as well as make the castle a better holdout position. Will update soon!
Very coo theme and atmosphere!! Got a play test on it tonight, sadly the gameplay doesn't hold up to it's looks... The map is pretty hard for infected. The castle, Funhouse, carosel, and back of the funhouse have huge lines of sight and are difficult to get too. It is a good map but you need to work on it's holdouts a lot more before I call it a Great Map Keep up the good work!
Thanks for the feedback man! I just finished a few changes tonight that addressed a lot of what you're saying All of the castles main lines of sight are either blocked or in risky places to be. I also added a lot more cover inside the castle for sneaky infected players. I added some line of sight blockers in the balcony of the funhouse, but I think I need to block it more. In general terms, I added a lot more cover to the map as well. I'm going to keep making changes until it's balanced. This map is still in beta, so I love hearing this feedback. I really want this map to play awesomely. And by the way, "Canadian" Echo, what part of Canada are you from? Have you ever been to Wonderland in Vaughn, Ontario? Cause I took some inspiration from that place
Canadian more or less highlighted my main problems with the map but I also think that some of the lifts in the map are unnecessary. Try to keep the map to have only one lift and replace the rest with proper hard routes and jump ups. I also didn't like the lift that took you from the castle to the building by the clown face. I don't think it should be that easy to move from one holdout to another. There should be more risk when moving in between these two holdouts.
That is a very easy change to make. Players can already traverse between the top floors of the hold out using the rainbow arch, which is thin and kind of hard to jump on/walk on. I'm just going to get rid of all of the lifts.

Damn. Is this your first completed Infection map? Because if you get this into Matchmaking, that's a whole new level of prodigy Matchmaking or no, this map is definitely coming around. I'll keep an eye on this. Looking forward to those changes you and Canadian do to it.
