Okay, so this is my first share of a map that I designed and wanted to share. Foursquare is a map variant set in Forge World. It has four arms that lead to platforms that can be reached via the arms (ramps) or a man cannon from the last. One platform cannot be reached via man cannon but this is because it has the only access (teleporter) to the sniper and Banshee in the middle tower. Underneath the sniper tower are rocket spawn, a middle neutral base with health pack, also frags and DMR's. Spartan laser is found on platform 3 behind the large rock formation. Shotgun is located under blue base, and a hiding location is under red base. Review Foursquare:YouTube - Foursquare Tour This map is GREAT for sniping!
Well, I'll be the first to say that this map lacks aesthetic appeal, but that's ok, seeing as competitive maps are based more on gameplay. Anyways, the layout of this map looks clean and simple to understand. I know I wouldn't ever get lost. I like that you tried to add alittle touch of natural enviornment into this map, but rocks don't really fit well. I recommend you remove those. Also, the banshee might be alittle overpowering for a map this size. I'm not sure though. Let me know if it's not. Overall, this map looks solid. Welcome to Forgehub.
this map looks nice and I love the competitive feel it gives with the circling map using the lifts which is very nice touch to the map...the center looks nice and the alternating objects gives it a nice touch...I would suggest you make the map symetric by removing the banshee and the building you set it on...the would also play amazingly if you did that and you added some more cover and or replaced the rocks with other cover...the rocks are nice on a map if used correctly but they seem out of place...you could use some aesthetic point to the map too...
Thank you both for your comments! Our concept was to break up the squareness of the map with more shape and to add cover more than visual appeal. Both Wh0opz and I are on the top 100 leaderboards on Halocharts for sniping. Sniping is pretty much ALL we do. I alone have over 3,200 games played in Team Snipers. We find that most people camp with a sniper so we wanted to create a map that had no cover, thus the creation of the first Foursquare on 3/24 in my fileshare. With the sbiper tower in the middle being only accessible from arm 1 (also called platform 1) we wanted to make the regular slayer, and sniping advantage point much harder to get to. As we played the map we realized the spawns weren't very fair and it needed a little more dimension and cover as the map was just a little bit too open. So, the rocks under red base were added, and so was the shotgun spawn under blue base. Hope that explains it a little better. Our second map, which we'll release soon, is a remake of Relic.
