when I commented before that I "should have known" this was possible, part of the reason I didn't think it was after all was because I tried the teleporter trick that others have used to get inside each island. it didn't work. but based on this thread, it seems like it actually might work. I am away from xbox for a while, so if anyone wants to try this, please do. use respawn point to achieve trick demonstrated by Pychoduck place teleporter w/ default Alpha channel respawn outside of water and place second teleporter, also alpha. would that work to make it possible to "enter" the water? If so, I have a few tricks up my sleeve which are secretly in anotherImpact space level that could also be adapted here for making the player appear to have entered the water but keep them safe...
Even better, make downloading the canvas mandatory so we know that everyone has it. Otherwise, I would bet less than 10% of non forgers have it and forging on it would be a waste of time for those of us wanting to get our maps into MM, though it probably is the best forging environment we have to date.
I did some stuff with this trick and have a few things to report in case you want to try it: I suggested that teleporters may work: GOOD NEWS, they do. You can enter and exit the water using this trick. However, and this is a big however, you cannot spawn on both sides of the water. Once you have died on one side, it will only spawn you on that side. I have not yet tested whether respawn zones of any kind can override this rule. Also, if you fall down off of your map while already under the water, sometimes you are told that ... "You were killed by the Guardians", and one time my player did a freefall (NOT softkill countdown) into the abyss under the water, then reset and fell again, reset and fell again, finally "killed byGuardians"... I have never seen that before... has anyone else? It might indicate that 343i programmed Forge Island to have this capability, but that it is a little buggy under the water. So, it should be possible to create the appearance that a player has dove into the water and simply kept going, rather than needing to spawn there in the first place. Though, note the spawning rule (apparent) above.
