Well, the forums are for discussions. While I disagree with most of the things he's said about these maps in particular, I don't question his taste in some other maps for other reasons as well. Maps are all about preference, some love them, others hate them... you can't please everybody.
I understand what you mean by subconscious inspiration, but that is not what I was referring to when I said original. The way I used it means that while I was creating Terrace, I had no other map in mind. You could pick apart some of the geometry and claim it resembles other maps, but it was not intentional. When you talk about pre-design...I don't like to look at myself as a forger, instead a designer. Many times I have drawn down doorways and pillars and platforms in 3d with my own custom texture. I have also designed maps in custom editors on other games. Perhaps you would see me differently if Terrace and Annex weren't the only maps you've seen from me. My recent maps are more reflective of my attention to detail. As for the forgers I listed. Those are undoubtedly the best map designers I know on Halo. Some of them understand gameplay on a whole other level than 95% of forgers. Minor detailing? Simplistic competitive gameplay? You have no idea what I look for in maps. You are judging me off of Terrace which was designed for MLG (who only seem to like small symmetrical maps). @Audience: Thank you for ending the argument. You have too little experience to even be talking about this.
