Roundabout is an asymmetric map by @Urban Myth. It was heavily influenced by Guardian's/Lockout's classic design, combined with elements of Ascension and some original ideas.
You've got to be tricky and relentless to acquire some of the links we placed in here. Yes, yes you do. I still play them every other time my buddies and I get together. These days I'm basically slightly better than casual noob, so I get my ass handed to me if I play online. I prefer to stay in my group where I can dominate There is a distinct excessive fondness for bridges/catwalks in these old maps. I'd get irritated, but bridges . . . One thing I miss about the old mechanics is how you could control the flow of the maps you made. With the addition of all the new movement abilities, it takes way to much work to control map flow. If someone can see you, odds are they can get to you in a matter of seconds. This is a problem I had with all of the 343 maps, including the remakes. They always insisted on making it so you could get anywhere from anywhere. The new mechanics were my sign to give up hope that anything would change. Don't take me wrong, I do kind of like the idea of the mechanics and how it seems more canon than the ones we used previously, but if you asked me if it improved gameplay, I would have to say no. It's different - fun - but not better.
I'm not much of a 1v1 guy and I have never set up teams on any of my maps but you could try There's no F in Way, and Xenon. Fnway is Micro and Xenon is just tiny. If you want a mini game with excessive bashing you could try my Q-bert Slam map, or if you want some of the most fun rally action I have personally played you could try my Revenant Rampage Arena map. Both are able to be played as 1v1 even though I personally find them more fun with more players. Don't forget the gametypes. I don't think I have a classic slayer gametype in my fileshare but you will want one to play any of the maps I made that don't include a specific gametype. Powerup/ability pickups enabled. If you give any of them a play and post a vid, let me know.
Terrace is a small, vertical inverse symmetrical map by @xzamplez that's designed for competitive gametypes.
Forged by @Noxiw, Verticaus is a hyper vertical map with a central column that serves as the primary focal point, giving players a view of nearly the entire battlefield.
Violaceous, co-forged by @Marcass2021 and @AvailableMoth is a medium sized asysymmetrical map that plays multiple gametypes.
I've completed videos of all the maps I've been able to track down (aside from the mini games, because walkthroughs of those would be pointless. They would need gameplay footage). Here are the maps I've not been able to locate: Catha by Eightball Lateral by Noooooch Pendant by Eightball Zzonked by Shik If @Eightball, @Noooooch, @Shik, or anyone else has these maps and can make them available in their fileshare, please let me know.
Awesome job Chunk. You really went above and beyond. I'm sure Reach fans, lurkers and forgers will trickle through these maps over the years to come.
I hope all of these maps manage to make the crossover to MCC's Reach. It would be a shame to leave them in the last gen.
From my understanding (I may be wrong) it seems like you will need to have access to the account of the fileshare you want the files from. So while these may be on A fileshare, unless the person who has it on there sigs into MCC, the files cannot be accessed there. Again, I may very well be wrong about this and I'll try to do more digging. However, it may be worth while to coordinate and make sure that the files here that are still accessible are uploaded to an active gamertag.
This was my understanding as well, from the information that's been shared so far. I was initially thinking that if it was on a fileshare it would be carried over, but that doesn't seem to be accurate. It sounds like content will only carry over if the owner of the file share signs in to MCC on XBOX after the transfer has taken place.
That would seem like an odd stipulation. That's something that would take even longer to set up than just doing a file transfer. About all that would help is the volume of duplicates that need to be transferred but there are simpler ways to do that. Also the map file sizes are pretty small.
