Got a better Idea, When Bungie gets bored of making maps and will stop then they should release a "Map Maker" For like 20$ And what it is, it's a extra Cd where you insert to your xbox and it's similar to Farcry map maker. then when finished with the map you save it and it saves to your Reach save files. I know this is discussed before, but oh well.
::Facepalm:: Isn't that the reasoning behind bungie giving us the basics along with complete buildings in Forgeworld? To give us the tools to make practically anything we want? I honestly don't understand where this thread is going; and I'm fairly certain there was already a thread on this very topic. Proof: Alternate forge worlds? Arctic or covy city?
What Bungie should do is give us all of those ideas in one map. Just like how forge world has multiple sections. Well a new map should have a massive beach, so its like a desert, then that turns into a field. Lets use a vahalla remake, as an example for the field. Then that turns into a giant hill covered in trees so you now have a jungle. Then up on the cliff sides it is capped with snow so if you forge up there you have your snowy environment. Then a massive cave somewhere off of the canyon. That way everything looks natural and not forced. Do you see where I'm going with this?
SPAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol So are you saying rather then creating new maps they should just make expansions to forge world? thats actually what i was thinking lol but i doubt it would be possible to just keep cramming stuff into a Single map, also what would happen to maps that were built before an expansion?. My idea for a small Forge World Expansion though was a Active Volcano that gets added out in the water.
No man, I am talking about a whole new map. It works practically the same as forge world but new shaped spaces and a huge number of themes naturally weaving together, all in one map
Anyone played Burial Mounds? They could quite easily create a big rocky plateau as a new environment to Forge from. They could take that crashed ship theme and incorperate it into this, with flaming debris falling from the sky. The Forge filters would really make this kickass, perhaps giving you the oppertunity to make the ground look frosted and the ash like snowdrift? Awesome high-dea.
You don't need any other forge worlds imo. You could just recreate Burial Mounds with filters. Do things like this... and you can basically create any map you feel like. The added scenery will just make it look different... it won't change the gameplay.
That would be pretty cool actually. It would be like Foundry but much, much better because obviously it is going to be in Reach. So that means better graphics, more objects, better budget, and more originality than Foundry.
I'm diggin' the city idea, but not New Mombasa. We've seen plenty of New Mombasa. What about other cities we haven't heard from in the Halo universe: LA, NYC, Sydney, Tokyo. Some of my favorites. Santa Monica. Yeah, it doesn't sound like it lends itself too well to halo style action, but you'd get a city that's not too heavily built up, and therefore, easily forgable, and you get a free beach landscape right next to it. Throw in A partially collapsed Santa Monica Pier with the flaming wreckage of a phantom sticking out of it and you got your self some fun. New Orleans. Maybe a little bit futuristic, but for the most part it should have that old skool Nawlins Flavor. Again, the landscape would be easily forgable and, guess what? Free swamp! Let's see how the grunts react when they come face to face with a 300 lb gator. Anaheim, CA. 'Cause you know we'd all like to blow Disneyland the **** up. (don't take that last one seriously, it was meant to be a joke)
Bungie never really did anything with urban landscape; even in ODST most of the game was in more open areas. If they were to release another Forge World, it would probably be extremely similar but at night so filters are unnecessary to give the night appearance.
