I couldn't find any other place to put this, so if it's in the wrong place, just let me know. This thread is where you post ideas for forged maps that you'd like to see realized, either by you or by someone else. If you're a mapmaker who can't figure out the perfect hook/gimmick for your new map, or if you're someone who can't forge worth diddly-squat (like me) and you just want to let the community know what you'd like to see in a map, here's where to put it! Personally, I'd like to see a competitive map filled with booby-traps. I'm not talking about just one or two booby traps; I'm talking about a map where you never know whether you're going to kick it from your enemy's guns, grenades, or a dumpster/spool/fusion coil/etc. that smashes you into oblivion. Or perhaps a trapdoor to a killbarrier? That would certainly make games interesting, chaotic, and fun, though I wonder if it would be a problem putting that many switches or things like that on one map.
My idea of the perfect map is not possible to make in forge with any map. My map is going to be made when Sandbox is released, and if it is what I think it is then it will be possible to make this map. The perfect map works for every gametype and I had come up with the idea a few hours ago as we were driving back home from my Grandma and Grandpa's house. These are just a few of the main points in the map: Freeway looking, miles of road Based all around vehicles NPC's driving regular cars, or warthogs on the road Aesthetics would be neighborhoods on the sides, past the guard rails Two different sections of road with guard rails going through middle and on sides Invisible wall along sides preventing players from leaving the road Map goes in a circle with a base on each side being toll booths but much larger Plays out much like Rat's Nest due to the circular shape and choice to go around either way or through the middle Middle of circle is a playable nieghborhood, with entrance being easy due to jumping the guard rails Plenty of neutral buildings/houses in middle Trees in middle near houses I think that this map would be the best possible follow up to large maps along with Sandtrap. It would definitely get FEATURE NAO! To get the idea of the map, you would have to think of it like if you took Rat's Nest and combined it with Avalanche and Sandtrap. But made it Urban and more like Headlong from Halo 2. Spoiler Combine This This And This
I always love playing in like city streets and stuff with multi-floored, multi-roomed, destroyed, debris-coated buildings. But i guess thats a little complicated for forge... I cant wait till Recon
I've been messin with a hostage game for months now, and out of, probably 10 tries, each has failed horribly. Or rather, i discovered 10 ways not to make a hostage game. I am getting close, it has something to do with respawn areas. VIPs tend to respawn in the safest place.
