I have just posted a switch made by my friend (BoondockSaintCM) which is designed to close a door. You can check out the thread here. Since this is the first switch I have seen for Halo Reach, I figured it might spark some new discussion about switches. Therefore, I have created this thread as a place to have those discussions. Feel free to comment on the switch in the Aesthetic Maps section, but let’s try to keep as much technical forge discussion here in the Forge Discussion section where it belongs.
expanding on your idea, you could make some sort of massive switch that closes a player in a jail. have a ring of fusion coils, put crates on top. set off the ring with a landmine, and the crates all rise up to form a ring around a player. or same idea, except make the entire floor out of crates with fusion coils under them, and when you hit the switch, it pushes them into a soft killzone.
Its possible to make a switch that opens the door too. You could make the crate move further, and then use fusion coils to block it. Then when the fusion coils are shot, the crate gets pushed further and creates a path to get through.
I'm so glad this was posted. As well that pressure switch was exactly what I was looking for. I've taken it and revamped it to suite my own needs. No Doors this time, but a flying object to kill you. I know the ghost switch still works. the one that was used in halo 3. Where you take a ghost prop it's two wings up on some columns so that the nose is pointed up. then on the other side of a wall you can "flip Ghost" but not ride it. this lets your ghost push say a golf ball or fusion coil to trigger something else! Other than that it's not as easy to make switches because we don't have pallets any more.
