New user here, and first map to get blasted away by all the other excellent stuff around it. Anywho...For the Covenant! is an Invasion only map, mostly because of it's size. It uses a custom gametype with the same name, which affects loadouts and phase-order mostly, with only a couple other minor tweaks, such as making the bomb/core carrier move at 100% (or so it says, core's still a wee bit slower than normal, I think). Aggressors: Elites The Covenant is looking to establish a foothold on reach. They had scouted a canyon that would be perfect, but by the time they had sent a team in to claim it, the UNMC had already dug in, with hasty fortifications. The entrance to the canyon has been blocked, and the Spartans have both heavy firepower and the high ground. Phase 1: Assault: Elites begin with a fleet of vehicles, both terran and covenant (yeah yeah, you get a rockethog, so quit bashing), as well as some modest weaponry. The Spartans however, are located on a catwalk above the cave entrance, armed with rocket launchers and grenade launchers, with a few turret emplacements. The Elites must somehow weave their way through the hail of rocket-fire to plant the charge that will destroy the wall blocking their way. Phase 2: Territories: While the Spartans were defending the cave entrance, they have left their forward base unmanned. The Elites seize the position and try to hold it while the Spartans rain fire from above with Falcons and Banshees. Phase 3: CTC The Elites have control of the forward base, but they need to disable the Spartan encampment. High-powered weapons, revenants, and warthogs are all on the field to ease the passage of such long distances; as well as to ensure there is a nice, satisfying explosion-filled battle. ****** If you've read all this and decide to give it a try, please give some feedback. I have not been able to test this out with a large group, so let me know how the balance and pace work out. How are the round time-limits...spawn-placement? While you were Spartan, did you understand where to go after Phase 1? Any and all criticism is welcomed and encouraged. Cheers!
