Sure you can just build up to where you want an object to float but that's limited and the ground may be rough.
What if I want to float an object out over a cliff, I can't build up for that.
So what do you do? Hold the object out in the air, save the map then end the game and go back into the game you saved. And there we go.
Now if you're are trying to build a full floor out in Mid-Air that is very time consuming.

I figured out how to place an object in mid air without having to end the game. Just restart the round. [I don't know if this has already been discovered or not], but if not then cool =]

To start with you are going to have to find the object in the object menu you want to place.
-Find the general area you want it placed.
-Delete the object and press X so you have the object menu open.
-With the object menu open, press START
    -Start a new round
-As you see the score board come up press A and the object will appear, place it where you want it

When the round restarts the object will be floating in the air.
I realise how limiting this is but it is a lot faster to make an air floor on.

Now I just need to figure out how to make it more precise, I need help I guess. How can I hold the object, set it where I want it and restart the round and have it still float in mid air.

Obviously when you try this method you realise that what makes the object float in mid air is the fact that you are actually holding the object when the round/game ends. When you restart the round while holding an object the game force the object out of your hands...

So I am trying to find out how to force the object to stay in my hands without going around the long way. I have actually done it in Avalanche quite a few times but it seems to just glitch and work... And not actually happen with a good reason =\

I believe this was mentioned a while back, not sure by who though. I found it to be not worth the extra 15 seconds you save, but it is good for quickly building a rough draft of a map.

i think this was originaly found by MealonX, and you forgot to mention was that you have to be "non-host" for this glitch to work.
