Interesting map nice angles on the boxes I know how long it takes ecspecially with interlocking nice job though.
Sigh.... Apparently no one cares about the soccer ball. Poor soccer ball- so alone and forgotten. I guess I'll just have to publish a pic of where he is so everyone can claim how brilliant his placement was and praise his ingenious location.... Seriously, I guess I go take a picture. May be a day or so- but I'll get it done. Guess I won't be putting another easter egg in my next map- none of you care.
This may be my first post on this forum ever, but I found it =D here is the pic. http://www.bungie.net/stats/halo3/screenshot_viewer_popup.aspx?ssid=33169076 Also, this is a really awesome map!
You found it! Awesome. When I originally created this map, there was a gap between the box tunnels on the bottom floor (center building). I had to close it all up- but there was just enough room to hide a ball in. PESTO: easter egg.
It's very apparent how much time it took to plan and make this map, and you've done a great job. I just got around to doing a forgethrough (sorry, no real games yet), and I really like the layout and it seems as though it will play well with a 4v4. I'll find out soon enough, but allow me to give you a small critique. You don't have any respawn areas set up, and for the objective games that this map seems tailored for, you really need them. Especially the Flag Home/Away respawn areas. These are critical for CTF, otherwise an enemy can respawn in your base and vice versa. I'd throw at least one Flag Home respawn area down for each team at their respective bases and maybe put two each for the Flag Away in strategic locations away from the base. You could do Assault the same way with only the standard respawn areas, as Assault doesn't have any that are specific to the gametype. Other than that, I really liked what I saw and I think these tweaks are easily done and could be implemented in a v2. Once I get an actual game on here I'll give some more feedback.
I don't honestly understand the significance of setting up respawn areas when I've already setup respawn points- please educate me on this. Why do I need them?
I am currently working on an update of FINALE that will focus on respawn areas. This will likely result in an updated version of the map. If you are interested in this, stick around. Not sure if I'll update this thread for the next version or just create a brand new thread. Hmm. I'm also finishing up on my next map. What is it? Well, its symmetrical and plays well with either teams or free-for-all gametypes. Its also really smooth and seamless- it has a polish that exceeds my previous efforts. Its entirely ground-based- so no vehicles-but that actually only makes it better. I've also experimented with several new ideas on this next one. I'm really proud of it. Hope you will all check it out. Not sure if I'll do a floorplan diagram on it though- its going to be difficult. I'm also working on other maps- but I'll keep those to myself.
this looks really cool from all the pictures idk how all the vehicles will go into play, but the idea is very good, and you did a good job making it
Ah. I know- it took awhile, but the updated Finale is now available. The update includes the placement of Respawn Areas for all Gametypes. In short, its a minor fix, but an essential one. Well, hope you all enjoy it.
Yes, that's true- but that room is for the vehicles to maneuver and is necessary. It's not really a flaw at all.
