Kinda ironic, considering the thread below. Anyways, what music do you all like in games? I have two favourites: STILL ALIVE This is in the ending credits in portal, and is pure genious. e.g.] For the good of all of us... Except the ones who are dead! DELFINO SQUARE From the Mario Kart series. This song is just immense. Anyone who has mario kart ds or wii, turn up your volume and listen to my favourite song EVER! P.S. Please no GH or Rock Band etc. songs!
Honestly the music from the Halo series, specifically Halo:CE has got to have to pretty damn good and iconic music to it. Everyone knows it when they hear it and it appeals to all ages. It's has some the most excellent tracks to it. Another game that comes to mind is Jet Set Radio Future, one of the only other games I have acquired the soundtrack to. Some really great music =P One other game series to have some awesome music in it is the GTA series, specifically Vice City, though it's not really game music in the sense that it was made for the game but still, good music over all in all the series =]
I agree with rayn, the first time I beat halo: ce I felt the most epic amount of epic possible, escpecially with the last run in the warthog, omg, I know what I'm going to do when I get home.
I love Crush 40 and the music they write for the sonic games. "Live and Learn" and "Open Your Heart" are like the two best boss battle songs ever.
The Legend of Zelda songs... Hyrule Field in particular... also themes from Advance Wars, FF, Pokemon, etc.
FF7 -Main theme FF7 -Ahead on our Way (Kalm theme) ... in fact, EVERY piece of music from Final Fantasy 7 is exceptional. FFX -Besaid Theme Mass Effect -Main Menu music. Destruction Derby 2 soundtrack by Tuscan and Jug (****ing IMMENSE). Obviously the Halo musics.
Despite the fact that it's mostly hip-hop and I turn out to be a heavy metal kid, I agree that Jet Set Radio Future is one of the best soundtracks in a video game. I also tend to turn everything down except the music in Morrowind. The soundtrack is just total ear-porn!
Two words: O RLY? Anyway, I've never played that so I'd never know. Anyway, I tend to swing towards the more orchestral soundtracks. Anyone agree?
I have 3 favorite: the song when your fisrt starting halo 3 campain on the Covenent, Luigi's mansion ending credits, and i used to love the start-up song for tiger woods PGA tour 2003...EA, its in the game...lol
Tony hawks: proving ground has a great sound track with everything from roots manuva to rolling stones. The trailer for gears of war has mad world aswel, which is an amazing tune.
Oh, where to begin? There are so many good songs in numerous video games which I've had the pleasure of hearing. -Most of the music from Crono Trigger -The Intro to Crono Cross -Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64 -The main theme from Neverwinter Nights 2 -"Poeta"(Boss Battle music) And the main theme from Advent Rising -Two of the songs that play in Shadowfang Keep in WoW That's all I can think of for now.
Basically, nearly every Metroid/Legend of Zelda BGM created (except Kakiriko Village). And Delfino Plaza originally from Super Mario Sunshine.
Don't know about the best music ever, usually only the really, really bad ones get stuck in my head... like the jazzy beat in the multiplayer lobby for Pro Evo Soccer 08. An instant classic! (anyone else?) Seriously though, the Halo 2 theme when you're coming down the bridge in the tank was pretty cool the first time...
i totally agree with you on the rainbow road mario kart. i was just playing that the other day and i loved it
Fav. video game music: Fable theme Halo theme, MJOLNIR mix Legend of Zelda theme Morrowind theme FFX to Zanarkand Metal gear solid theme Portal credits Most of the other Zelda songs A few others
Favorites -Mass Effect: M5 Part II (ending credits song) and most other music from Mass Effect even though some do not relate (anyone else think the love song sounds sad?) -Halo: Unforgotten/Never Forget, may I say, excellent songs! I can play both on piano, though they are pretty much the same, Never Forget has a different intro than Unforgotten. -Guitar Hero/Rock Band: Hell, its a music game, in game music should be excellent! Haha, one of my favorite games anyway, recently purchased Afterlife by Avenged Sevenfold, (for rockband 160 MP) great song. Fail list (or could have been much better) -Assassins Creed: Good music sort of. I missed out on really good Arabian music that they could have played in Damascus (like Arabian chase music, which is excellent) -Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion: EPIC FAIL! Great game, probably one of the most monotonous (^sp?) soundtracks ever though... if I have to hear that attack music one more time...
The Halo theme because it's awesome. One Winged Angel, Sephiroth's theme, for its... Kickassity. Whatever the battle music is in Devil May Cry 3, it's awesome.
Umm....Zelda? Without a shadow of a doubt? I have every song and sound effect thingy (i.e. chest opening) from Ocarina of Time, THE MOST EPIC GAME EVER TO EXIST. One guy wrote 'em all, Koji Kondo. He r ep2c gaynius. Yeah, sounds nerdy, but Zelda is just f*cking timeless. Brings me back to my earlier childhood. Makes me happy/depressed. *Sigh...*
