Half-Life² - Episode 2 No game has ever struck me dead silent by its ending. This is the sole exception. Few games leave me with any major sense of emotion. This is one of them. Metal Gear Solid is another one. In fact, if it weren't for Hl² - Ep. 2, MGS would sit at the top of my list. However, HL² - Ep. 2 is just so involving and has so strong a story that it beats anything else that I've ever played.
Halo CE has the best ending. Easily. The first time I ran through it I had 2 seconds left on the timer....it was EPIC and won my heart (awwww)
I think every game has their own kind of endings. Halo= Action Packed Cliffhanger Portal= Funny Song About Cake Mass Effect= Mass Amount of Endings Bioshock= A "Twisted" Event Metal Gear Solid 2 & 3= WTF???? Although I've never beaten Guitar Hero 3 or COD4 (I have Neither) I'm sure they've got their own types of endings. And I'm sure I've seen some other good endings. But I like them all.... except for Metal Gear 2.... I mean really, should you be able to understand that?
Why is halo 3 up there? Probably Matrix: Path of Neo because i finally get a playable version of the epic fight with neo vs agent smith or COD4
From the list up there, Portal. My second though is probably DOOM3. Just because of how epic the last part is when you shoot through the big green portal, the giant beast thing, and hell itself. And that game had me on the edge of my seat all the time. I remember one time, I was playing, and out of no where a HellDemon jumped out with a chainsaw and I said, which I'm not supposed to say, **** really loud and fell on my cat's tail. Laughed my ass off.
The original Donkey Kong game should be up there, it has the best ending. Well... it's ending is great because it just goes... "WTF" and freezes on you =]
Bioshock. I've had my fill of funny/ironic endings. I loved it because it made me feel the way I used to when I beat a game, not like woo-hoo I ran through halo 3 on legendary for the 500th time because I was bored, the feeling you felt when you beat the elite four on your first pokemon game whether it be the red or the blue ver., it felt great. I can honestly say that that feeling is probably the best thing videogames has given me over the years, and it was awsome to feel it again after so long. Pure Win.
I really think Halo CE should be up there on that poll instead of Halo 3. And whoever said Halo 2 should be shot, lol. I threw my controller at the screen when I realized the game is over....
my favorite is bioshock. i was really surprised with the ending that it kept me thinking about it for days.
Portal was so hilariously stupid. The lyrics were so blunt. When you say GH3 do you mean the end of career mode, or beating TTFAF, cuz beating TTFAF is the best experience Ive had (with games) in my life. CoD 4's ending was good too.
I have played all the listed games cept for Bioshock And I gotta say, there is a tie between Call Of Duty 4 and Mass Effect Call Of Duty's ending gave me a huge shock but then a sigh of relief It was real intense and it is one of the best ones Now Mass Effect, that game has one of the best storylines ever in video game history It was so adventurous and the ending was great! Portal's ending was bleh, I did like the boss battle =) I also know a secret/glitch to beat GlaDOS really fast and easy.
How can you like CoD4's ending?! THEY KILLED GAZ! NO ONE KILLS GAZ! Halo 2's made me angry, Zelda OoT FTW!
