    So tonight I was talking with my friend and somehow we got into the conversation about fairy chess. Fairy chess is, simply put, chess with different pieces and rules. Long story short, we got bored and decided to make up our own pieces. We would have test played a game out, but I need to work tomorrow. Our plan is that instead of both players using the same pieces, each player has their own set of pieces to use.

    Example piece I made up:
    Pawn=Knut:
    Moves forwards, sideways, and diagonally forwards (but not backwards) one space. Captures in any direction.

    We're just going to use a standard chess board but replace pieces with our own inventions. Kings are going to stay the same in our variants, but it'd be interesting if they didn't as well..

    Anyone else tried experimenting and played a fairy chess game? I can't wait to try this out.

    Huh, this sounds like it might be fun for a long car trip or a boring afternooon. Thanks!

    I've played Checkers with Chess pieces and Chess rules.

    Oh, wait.
