Oooh I like version 2 because the lines are more visible. I would thin down the left and right borders just a bit. But other than that I likey. Edit: Oh and I just realized, try making the text a little more visible on the second one.
I like 'em. They aren't full of crazy effects and weird colors. I like that. Sometimes simplicity can be really awesome. They only CnC to give is to thin the side borders a tad like Nightfire said.
