Face to Face is a symmetrical map set in the quarry of Forge World. This is my first serious attempt at making a map for the community and it has also been submitted to the $5,000 budget contest.

With Face to Face, I wanted a map with a small but open feel to it that would be ideal for 4 vs 4 gameplay. I have tried to keep the design and flow simple, yet interesting too. The game play is fast paced and really shines when playing Capture the Flag because you have multiple routes to get to the other side, each with their own advantages. Other games like Crazy King and Odd Ball are a blast too.

From your starting point you have 4 directions you can take to assault the base of the other team.

    1. You can charge head on, crossing the pyramid and heading directly into their base.
    2. You can take the gravity lift up to the overhead bridge. You may proceed just over head along the curvy bridges and drop down onto your opponent from above.
    3. You may take the gravity lift and head back into the upper floor of your own base to take the man lift to the center structure. There you can find a turrent on top, a sword in the middle, and in the bottom level rockets. A teleporter in the top of your base will also take you to the center on the bridge side.
    4. Your final option is to run back and up to your bases sniper tower to blast them at long range.
If you prefer using a vehicle you can also drop down into the "ghost garage" and go for some splatters and cause some plasma burns. I placed a one way shield on the "ghost garage' door to deter opposing team ghost thieves a bit, but it's still simple to drop in on it "hi ho silver" style.

What's hanging above Red spawn in your screenshot? Whatever it is, it doesn't look like a natural formation if that's the look your going for. Oh how I digress...anyway. The map looks great. Everything appears to be symmetrical and balanced. The walkways are aligned, you've put down cover, which is good. Well done.

It's cool that you did this in5k budget. BUT I willsay that this map seems a little plain, as in the bridges near the rocky wall seem really plain. If you could, and want to possibly mess up you budget, I would drees up the area near the wall of rocks, specifically the bridges.

Thank you for your input. The piece that you see in that screen shot is part of the Red base that protrudes out and above. Try downloading the map and you will see how it fits into the look of the base.

I appreciate your comment. I wanted the map to be open and simple, not too cluttered. I put a lot of time and budget into the bases themselves to make them unique and interesting. Then bridges are open so that you can jump down at just about any point you like. I did add some cover to the bridges, and the fact that they curve back and forth does add some variety. Perhaps after you try the map you will think differently?
