no you don't. wait... i see it now. lol nvm. anyway, this looks pretty interesting. good use of the pillars with the angles. I like a nice creative take on the traditional MLG maps, and Im excited to see Sandbox expand upon that style. Good work. I'm gonna have to take a closer look at this one.
I have to say this map caught my eye for some reason. I like the look and non distracting asthetics such as the pillars. I would get an outside pic even if the whole map is indoors a Birdseye view is good to see the general layout. Also loose the sheild door frowned upon for mlg I would check out an mlg aprooved and controversial thread. Besides the door it's all good and I'll DL in a few.
This map is just fantastic. The pit is the most creative thing I've ever seen in any map I've played. You should definitely put this feature in the main post as it is the selling point to this map besides the ridiculous forging.
2nd picture = Must download. I love it when an MLG map doesn't look like toddler blocks stacked into forts. Those slanted pillars are a huge selling point
Ok, there are some really cool points to this map. First, half of it is built in the skybubble and the other half is built just below the grid under the skybubble. And there is a big opening that really looks like you can jump down, but you'll die if you do. Things like that really show creative genius and raise the bar. Another good thing about this map is it looks amazing! Some great ideas went into this and I really wish you would have spent the effort writing up a good post with details for the map cause it really deserves it. Now onto the issues I had with it. First the map is a 1v1 maybe 2v2 map(really small) and it uses MLG weapons. The map does have a shield door, which most will not approve. I can say that how this shield door is setup is probably the best you'll ever get out of a shield door(You'll have to run around on the map to see what i'm talking about). Next, there are alot of tight areas around this map. Not really a problem untill you put camo/mauler/PP all in the same recipe. This will end up turning into a beatdown fest with the occasional BR battle. I would recommend replacing both the PP and Mauler with other items such as a snipe with no spare clips or possibly a set of sticky grenades. These would add to more interesting battles that would require a bit more skill and alot less camping. While I haven't played an actual game on the map yet, I soon will. I'll be back with a better review after that. To everyone else that is reading this: This is one of the few maps on Sandbox that is worth downloading.
This map is forge genius super pro I cant believe you had the patience to forge the entire bottom part of the map beneath the grid, that would have driven me crazy. It was fun to play for 1v1, but i totally pwned squidhands so i dunno... But it was not a beatdown fest as someone above suspected, instead there were actually plenty of BR fights
Well I got some games on it and I can say I'm not liking the Mauler at all. The map has alot of close quarters battles and the mauler just rapes. It has 10 shots in it, enough to just rack up alot of kills with ease. I still say it should be replaced with a snipe. The shield doors did save my life a few times when I should have died, but they aren't as bad as most will think. So my thoughts: -Replace Mauler with snipe(no spare clips) -Remove shield doors This map is also budget glitched, but I can see it being within budget if you tried to. Other than that, great job.
Yeah, this is a pretty sweet map. I stood staring at the grid for a while the first time I did a forgethrough, trying to get my brain to wrap around the awesomeness that you pulled off here. What a brilliant idea to split the map between the death barrier, it's easily the first of it's kind. I got a Halo:CE feel from the start, which is a very good thing. It's hard not to want to camp the teleporters, but there really isn't an alternative for what the map is trying to accomplish. I agree with DeathstarsOG about getting rid of the Mauler, but I didn't mind the shield doors at all. They're set up in a way that you really can't camp behind them, and they provide some nice cover from up above when getting fired upon. Hey, in my defense, I'm old and decrepit. Not to mention that I'm a lover, not a fighter, lol. Seriously, this is an awesome map. Spectacular idea that was pulled off just as well. Hope to see more from you soon, budget glitched or not.
WOW. this is a great map. You well forged it, interlocked, and had good weapon placement. It has everything. But the shield door has to go. It cant be in there in MLG. Nice Nice Nice overall. 9.5/10
I'm not a big fan of MLG maps - infact, I don't even have any MLG gametypes. But I do spot a nice MLG map here and there now and then - and I give them a download, to play Slayer or other gametypes on them. Much like this one. Great use of the death barrier, I had a similar idea once, but thought it'd take too much time. Not much I can say - besides that I don't really like the teleporters. It'd be great if you could replace them with a grav-lift/fall system, but yeah. I know. Deathbarrier. Overall, I enjoy the layout, nice aesthetic touches, and the original twist to the Deathbarrier for a competitive/MLG map (I used it for a Hobo's Heights remake, for example). Well done.
