Endfall is a small/medium-sized symmetrical map designed for 2v2 but supports 4v4. Initial drop weapons include a shotgun, two sniper rifles and two needlers. Random drops include a wide range of weapons. As with most maps I design, this map works great with ShWATguns which is a favorite with the friends that I play with. Kill Zones keep players honest so there is no flying to the top of the side walls. If you try to perch there, you will likely die immediately. Split screen is sketchy, but so are most forge maps I've played on. I'd like some feedback on this map. Enjoy! Overview More screenshots...
Why has nobody commented yet? Aesthetics look refreshing and the design looks fine. Have you done testing on any other gametypes. The map looks pretty universal for different gametypes.
I didn't even see this thread until now. Looks beautiful, Blackout. High Quality stuff. I'll certainly give it a download. ShWATguns? haha... I'd like that much better than SWAT.
Oh yeah. Quality thread, plus this looks impressive. Aesthetics and design. Weapon set looks like it could use some more weighting towards the bottom, although I can't be sure until I play it. That being said, I'd like to play this sometime...
Dang, nice map. I'll definitely download this and check it out. The Aesthetics are better than anything I've every done, and it looks like a real quality map. It looks a tad open, but that might just be me.
Beautiful map with a great layout. Nice architectural touches throughout. I really like the courtyards.
@ PA1NTS - Thanks for the comments. Its nice to have someone who's had a map in MM compliment your map. Means a whole lot. And I probably could have added more gametypes, but I haven't had the time to really focus on that aspect. Plus I'm not sure how to do certain new gametypes. @SpinCycle - I think you're right about the lack of weapons in the bottom. I'll probably move the random drops near the team spawns to the bottom level. That should help. I tried to place them in open areas with little to no cover so that getting them would be risky. @Everyone else - Thanks for the compliments. Its nice when your craft is noticed by fellow forgers.
The pictures look great, I can tell a lot of attention was given to dimension and detail. I will definitely be giving this a download. By the way, how can you forge in Ravine? Every time I do, I just end up getting frustrated at how small/limited it is vs Erosion or Impact.
Don't change it just because I said so. If the drops above are working, leave them. I haven't played on this yet, although I'd like to.
I downloaded this map and checked it out in forge for myself. It's a great looking map. Consistent piece usage, great contrast between whites and blacks and good textures. The layout is solid. Good verticality mixed with the right amount of cover, different mix of close and long range sightlines. Biggest thing I did not like was the sheer lack of ramps in this map. There are only 2 ramps, and they both lead from the bottom floor to the second main floor. There are absolutely no ramps to get to the third floor. In my opinion, this is bad because it forces the player to rely on tac jumps or man cannons which are both somewhat risky. Ramps are required to provide a simple route to the highest point of the map, especially since players are naturally inclined to do so. I agree with others in that you need some other weapons and what not in the bottom level. Also, the spawn points at the top of the map should be removed... Last thing... Why aren't there red and blue pieces? The only way to orientate yourself is by using the cliff, which was real smart by the way. Not many forgers plan their maps out like that, and it's cool to see someone doing that. Good map. Looking forward to more from you.
i really enjoyed the test i played on this last week. had a lot of fun on a great map. having it now pointed out to me, i didnt miss the ramps at all. my only problem with this map is that jetpacks are too dominant. any gametype with that removed would make this damn near perfect for me
this appears to be a well thought out map which seems balanced and looks like tons of fun , i will definitely consider downloading this map .
