Dude! i'm so glad you caught that. I have a nice method for duplicating halo 2 maps by splitting my screen (half 360, half old xbox). I saw someone already remade the bridge to New Mombasa... i'm thinking about remaking a portion from Delta Halo. that's probably my favorite area from halo 2.
I scanned through fast on forge and I like the aesthetics and creative use of all the parts. If I were to add anything it would be a secondary access to the main room that is located somewhere evenly spaced between the red and blue bases, even if its a teleporter. I think it would add an alternate route to for both sides to contest. Alternate routes never can hurt anything. Also it seemed strange to hide some weapons in little corners, you want people to notice them correct? Lastly since you have a lot of budget leftover I would spruce up the underside with the bridge connecting bases since its very plain. Overall great work, just giving you options to consider.
hey i appreciate you're critique... very thorough you are. [yoda]. i was definitely desiring a second entrance to the chamber too. i thought about having a double decker tunnel but i was faaar to lazy. As for the weapons, i'm assuming you're talking about the grenade launcher you're definitely right... no one's gonna find that for their first few times playing it, but I think Powerhouse justifies my placement. by the way DL'd Empire a few days ago. still haven't played it though. i'll let you know how I like it.
I downloaded this. Really cool map. One thing I noticed that you may or may not want to change is there are a couple spots where there are dead ends. You are probably just using these for spawns, I'm not sure, but often times spots like those don't work well on maps. The main room definatly looks awesome though and I like the unique feel of the map!
thanks juke. you're right, i utilized those dead ends as spawn points, but they were improvised to say the least. of course there's those times when i focus too much on aesthetics and realism, but i forget to stick to making an ideal map for game-play. -Eric
just thought i'd let u know that i used this map for my halo party i hosted last weekend. had some epic swat games. great feedback from my friends. keep it up.
Exactly. I would have replied earlier but my computer crashed before that. But yeah, and I think there might also be one in blue base.
This is a very beautiful map, I love it aesthetically, and it plays great. I really like the layout and I particular liked how it has some lockoutish outdoor areas along with the indoor mid and close combat, it makes for an interesting game. I noticed though that the spawns could use some adjusting, they are too predictable and make spawn killing easy (I did it a few times myself lol). I also noticed there is a soft kill zone that needs to be lowered in the corner next to the red base entrance into the blood gulch bunker piece, is that intentional?
the soft zones were sort of an experiement. mainly because I hate campers... and that spot in particular would be prevalent for SWAT camping. But I've had enough negative feedback on it, so i'm thinking i'll not use that idea for future maps. feel free to modify Emerald to your liking.
The map looks alright, nothing extremely special. Try putting more attention to other parts of the map than just the main room
